That Would Be Enough

Nico di Angelo

Okay, I lied a little. But my nerves were so bad and I was so just excited all of a sudden I needed to go tell someone. And Bianca had no plans all afternoon. Plus I know that I need to get ready. Take a shower, get changed into nice clothes. Put on some... I don't own cologne.

Why don't I own cologne?

I suppose I've never been on a proper date before. And as excited as I was because this was Percy Jackson, the most amazing guy out there, I was terrified because what the hell am I doing?

"Hey, Nico!" Bianca said as she finished up something, putting it down. "My favorite lil' bro. What happened. You haven't been this excited since I got back to camp after that quest."

"I have big news." I explained to my sister. She's gone on a few dates. Her and Grover have been very flirty lately and it's kind of annoying. "I have a date tonight."

She just about freaked out.

"What!?" My sister questioned, and I wasn't sure if she was mad or excited or what was going on. "Nico, oh my gods. Where, when, why, and who?"

"Calm down," I insisted, taking a breath myself. "Somewhere you can eat, I'm assuming because it's dinner. Tonight. Because he asked me and it took me 27 years to figure out. And it uh... It might be Percy."

We celebrated for about five minutes over this before she told ran me through a check list and we realised that we needed to go shopping and get non-camp clothes and also cologne because I don't want to smell like ass on a date.

Percy Jackson

I was so excited and Grover noticed. He was talking about Bianca (ironically enough, his crush) and suddenly I figured I should probably tell him about my date.

Dude, I could actually sign, which was a mental relief with Grover.

"What?"

I got a date tonight.

"Um, I'm sorry." My best friend remarked, suddenly as if he hasn't been pushing me to talk and ask Nico out for weeks. "Who are you?"

Oh, shut up, I told him, rolling my eyes. I ran into and we hung out on the beach for a little bit and I got my head out of my ass and I, through a long game of what Percy's trying to sign, asked him out. Also, why didn't you tell me he was gay? That would've helped. A lot.

"Oh, yeah... Sorry."

But he said that that was great and hopefully it went really well. Maybe while we were gone, him and Bianca could hang out and he could try to work at that. He asked me what I was planning on doing.

Dude, I've been planning this forever in my head. I promised. I'm going to bring him to Olive Garden because I'm confident in the idea that he likes Italian food. He was born in  fucking Venice. And plus, I love Olive Garden. And then if we're not at Olive Garden for 37 years, I think I'll bring him to that one really nice spot right outside of the city where you get a view of the bridge and the stars are really nice out there. So not too fancy. But nice.

Grover kind of laughed.

"You're so cheesy."

So?

Around six I hopped in the shower and freshened up before drying my hair and getting dressed. Just a nice button down shirt with skinnier jeans. Like a straight cut.

Unlike me.

I'm sorry, I had to. I don't talk. I have too much time to think about jokes.

But I made sure I looked presentable before grabbing my wallet and keys, heading to Cabin 13.

Knocking on the door, I was forced to wait an entire like 7 seconds. Which, I didn't care. Nico answered the door, and I was pretty sure that Bianca got him something because I've never smelled cologne on Nico before. He had it on, though. And it smelled amazing. He just so nice and I smiled at him.

I've waited for this for a long ass time. I signaled out of the cabin. Shall we go.

He returned the smile and we walked to my car in silence. I got a new car this year. Dad got it for me because apparently he was in debt to me. I wasn't going to complain.

I don't even talk.

The car ride was filled with the sounds of the radio. Occasionally Nico would say something or another and I'd respond how I could manage as I drove.

Dinner was amazing, though. We were out of there at 9, and it wasn't as expensive as I anticipated it would be. So that was always nice. Our waitress was amazing, on top of that.

But as were driving in the direction that's away from camp, Nico did notice.

Nico di Angelo

"Percy, camps the other way." I told him. Dinner was amazing, and I even picked up a few things in sign language. And he nodded his head, telling me he knew that.

So he has other plans than just dinner.

"Are you taking me to a secret hideout so you can murder me and they'll never find the body?" I questioned as a joke. "Because Bianca won't be very happy with you if you do that."

Percy let out a noise that kind of sounded like a laugh and nodded his head, joking with me.

But after twenty minutes, we got to a little hide our beach fuel area that was empty. The view, though... It was amazing. You could see everything from here. The silence was baffling.

Percy put down the blanket on the ground and motioned for me to get out of the car and join him on the blanket.

I realized how cheesy he was at that exact moment and it was official.

I was going to make this cheesy bastard my boyfriend.

It was a little chilly outside, but Percy gave me all of the warmth in the world with how we ended up cuddling. Not much was said. We'd point out the constellations to each other. But after ten minutes it was us just constantly glancing at each other and hoping the other doesn't see or notice.

Well gods know we both noticed.

So he made move one, asking me out. I wasn't leaving this date on a stalemate.

"Hey, Percy."

He responded by looking down at me, so I was sure I had his attention.

"I've had a lot of fun tonight," I promised him as I intertwined our fingers together. "And I've been thinking. Would you like to be my boyfriend?"

Again, Percy smiled. And then we shared our first kiss and my heart did some sort of gymnastics nice and my stomach did a sommersault and yeah. It was... I really liked his lips.

He signed that he'd love that.
