Time skip to afternoon~
Since Yugyeom and Jinyoung had detention together, they decided that they would go together. As they walked in, they noticed two new faces sitting at the back of the class, and apparently they did now know how to get their hands off each other. As usual, the teacher did not give two shits about any of them, so he just continued doing random shit on his phone. Yugyeom thought that the two guys seemed nice, and he was in the mood for making new friends, so he literally dragged a complaining Jinyoung to go sit in front of them.
Jinyoung kept sulking and Yugyeom felt annoyed. "What's with you today, hyung? Why are you so sulky and moody?" Yugyeom asked in annoyance.
Jinyoung just replied, "Urgh stop asking questions it's just that I'm on my man period kay?" Yugyeom just judged Jinyoung and did not utter a single word in case Jinyoung had a gun with him. What? You never know.🙃
Yugyeom walked up to the two lovey dovey guys at the back of the room, who were apparently about to kiss.
"Um... hi! My name is Kim Yugyeom and this is my friend Park Jinyoung. It's nice to meet you guys!" The two guys stared at yugyeom's outstretched hand in part disgust and part anger for ruining their little 'session'. But they decided to be polite anyway.
"Hi, I am Jackson Wang, but you can call me J-flawless, and this is Mark Tuan, my boyfriend. Wait. OMG ARE YOU THE PARK JINYOUNG, LIKE THE SCHOOL'S HEART THROB!? AHH OMG ITS SO NICE TO FINALLY MEET YOU IN PERSON!!"The guy with pretty eyes and dark brown hair fan girled like crazy.
The other guy, Mark, slapped Jacksons shoulder, before telling Jackson to not ask rude things like that. He was just probably jealous. Jinyoung just shrugged his shoulders and gave an "I guess?" look on his face. Yugyeom felt kind of honoured and proud to have the most popular guy in his school as his friend.
For the rest of the day, the four talked about life and how it sucks and other random shit. They actually got quite close after that and became friends. Yugyeom was surprised that Jinyoung, the one that constantly doesn't open his heart up to people easily, was actually okay with Markson.
After detention, the four decided to meet up sometime and parted ways, not forgetting to bid their goodbyes first.
On his way home, Yugyeom smiled and skipped merrily. He was happy that he had made new friends and he started to think that detention was a blessing in disguise after all.
Time skip to the next day~
The next morning went by as usual. The fan girls were screaming for JJ project while the others waited for them to be done. Youngjae was obviously jealous asf and was sulking in a corner while Bambam was busy pasting posters that promoted dabbing on the walls of the school. The title read: Dabbing is not a mere action, it's a FREAKING LIFESTYLE. It also had a tutorial on how to dab properly.
Yugyeom shook his head and sighed as he begun to think about his choice of friends. However, his thought process was cut off when he felt a tap on his shoulder. "Oh hey Mark hyung and Jackson hyung!" Yugyeom shouted enthusiastically and smiled widely.
Markson smiled back and waved. They asked what Yugyeom was doing there, alone, waiting around in the hallways and not heading to class. He replied,"Oh, I'm not alone. My friend is in the corner over there and my other friend is pasting posters around the school. Also, I am waiting for Jinyoung hyung and JB hyung. Oh look! Here they come now!" Yugyeom smiled at them.
What made Yugyeom appalled and shookt was the state that Jinyoung was in. He was limping badly and had a mask and sunglasses covering his face. He also had a scarf over his neck. Yugyeom found it extremely strange that someone would be wearing a scarf indoors. Also, it was in the middle of summer!
Yugyeom sensed something was wrong with his friend and he pulled him to a corner where they couldn't be spotted. Yugyeom wanted to have a private chat to Jinyoung, alone, and he did not want anyone to be disturbing them halfway through.
"So, Jinyoung. Spill." Yugyeom had his hands crossed over his chest in anger, worry and frustration. "I-I don't know what you are t-talking about." Jinyoung replied as he looked down at the ground, not wanting to maintain eye contact with the younger.
"Oh come on, stop lying. I can't fucking see through you I'm not fucking blind." Yugyeom retorted, to angry to use formalities at this point of time. He knew something had been bothering Jinyoung ever since he was so timid and wasn't his usual pervy self anymore.
Also, Jinyoung wasn't his usual savage and sassy self. Last time, he always had to make a snide comment on everything. Now, he was even quieter than Mark, and Mark doesn't even speak.
"Umm... it's nothing, Yugyeom-ah. You don't have to worry about me. I'm fine, I promise." Jinyoung said softly and looked at anywhere but yugyeoms face. His vulnerability could be felt and Yugyeom furrowed his eyebrows in worry.
"No, Hyung. You're not okay and I can see it. Why are you wearing scarfs and sunglasses in the middle of summer? Why are you covering up that beautiful and flawless face of yours? Why are you limping so badly? Tell me what happened?"
"Please, hyung. I beg of you. I am speaking to you as a friend and I am here to help. So can you please open your heart up to me and let me help you?" Yugyeom tilted Jinyoung's chin up and stared at his face intently.
A single tear could be seen trailing down Jinyoung's cheek slowly and Yugyeom's heart immediately broke into a million pieces. He did not know what to do and felt helpless.
"Omo hyung, please stop crying. If not I will start crying too," Yugyeom said as he wiped the stray tear running down Jinyoung's face. "So can I take off the mask, to look at those round and cute cheeks?" Yugyeom pinched them and Jinyoung smiled slightly.
"Can I take off those sunglasses, and stare into those beautiful eyes that shine so brightly that they make my heart flutter whenever I look into them?" Yugyeom asked as he combed his hand through Jinyoung's hair, making Jinyoung shiver at the slight touch and intimacy.
"Can I take of that scarf-" Yugyeom started. But by then, Jinyoung's face suddenly turned into a horrified one and he pushed Yugyeom's hand away with force and ran away as fast as his legs could carry him. The padding sound of his footsteps could be heard in the distance.
Yugyeom stood rooted to the ground, like a deer caught in the headlights of an oncoming car. What was that? Why did Jinyoung hyung suddenly run away like that? Yugyeom felt confused. He had done nothing wrong, had he?
Thinking back to Jinyoung's horrified and hurt face, Yugyeom felt as if a knife had stabbed him directly in the heart.
It was as if Jinyoung had remembered something from his past that he did not want to remember ever again. That was the look on his face before he ran away.
To be honest, Yugyeom felt hurt. Why would Jinyoung suddenly leave like that? They were having a moment and Yugyeom definitely could not deny that he had feelings for Jinyoung anymore.
