"Let's go out, today," Jinyoung suggested over the phone.
"What? As in, like a date?" Yugyeom asked, eyes widening in hope.
"Yeah you could say that..." Jinyoung replied.
Yugyeom bit his lip nervously and he could feel his heart fluttering. A thousand questions filled his mind. What was he going to wear? What would he say?
Unknown to the younger, Jinyoung was feeling the exact same emotions. "So... Since it's a Saturday let's meet at the park nearby. We'll have the whole day to hang out."
"Okay, see you in an hour, hyung!" Yugyeom could not help but be filled with immense excitement. Was this going to be their first official date?
After taking forever to choose an outfit and style his hair, Yugyeom exited the house, smiling.
When he reached the park, he saw that Jinyoung was waiting for him, sitting on a bench. Jinyoung had his hands clasped together tightly, cold sweat rolling down his face. He could not help but feel nervous.
Taking a deep breath, Yugyeom walked up to Jinyoung and greeted the older cheerfully. Jinyoung looked up and smiled. "Hi, Yugyeom. Now, let's go for a walk."
The weather was perfect. Birds chirped merrily and the cool breeze brushed against their skin.
"Umm... So after this do you wanna go grab something to drink?" Jinyoung asked as they strolled down the lane slowly. Yugyeom, who was busy taking in the beautiful greenery, turned to look at Jinyoung.
"Sure!" He replied, smiling. "The view is great, isn't it?"
"Yeah, it really is, especially you," Jinyoung whispered to himself. Unknown to him, Yugyeom heard everything. He blushed and tucked his hair behind his ear shyly.
Both males had nothing much to say, so awkward silence filled the air. Uncomfortable, Yugyeom cleared his throat. "Erm... I love your outfit," he stated, giving Jinyoung an eye smile before mentally facepalming.
"Urgh, come on Yugyeom. Is this the best you can do to strike up a conversation? Complement someone's outfit?" Yugyeom thought in his mind.
Thankfully, Jinyoung smiled back. "Thanks," he replied calmly, shoving his hand in his pockets. Yugyeom felt his heart do flips upon seeing Jinyoung's pretty smile. How could someone be so perfect? His smile is truly addicting.
To be honest, Yugyeom was still not really used to Jinyoung being nice to him, considering how the older used to relentlessly bully him in the past.
However, he shrugged it off, figuring that he just might have to get used to it. It was how things are now. Peaceful. Serene. Just the way he had always wanted it to be.
He was so deep in thought that he failed to realize that Jinyoung had intertwined their fingers. Yugyeom felt the soft texture of Jinyoung's hand on his and blushed slightly, grinning.
He could definitely get used to this.
Jinyoung felt like his heart could almost burst out of his chest. Where in the hell had he found the courage to hold Yugyeom's hand? He could not lie though. He was enjoying every single bit of it.
"Hyung, I'm thirsty. Let's go for that bubble tea," Yugyeom whined.
Jinyoung smiled again. "Sure! I know of a great place that sells bubble tea not far from here."
"Yay!" Yugyeom exclaimed like an over-excited five year old. Jinyoung giggled at the cuteness.
Soon, both of them reached the place as they walked up to the counter to order.
