I walked along the beach a few moments before I began to strip off my one piece black bathing suit, and skirt.

I stood alone in the buff. The moonlight cascaded down and sent shimmers dancing about the crests of waves as they dashed down upon the sandy shoreline. My long curly thick brown hair tossed in the wind and slapped against my thighs. My mane hid my nakedness as well as any robe could. It often would take several hours to comb out the dreaded snarls from my swims. My creature longed to return to her cavern below...

My willowy frame would remain until I chose to shift most of the time, but during the Full Moons of August - once per year- my inner creature surfaced to shed its prior years skin. Molting the inner scales that sheathed my bones. Pealing away and leaving only traces of what I had grown from behind. This process would be my last time. I haven't seen another of my kind since my father passed. So I do not know much more than what is needed to survive. I may very well be the last of my kind... The last Cavern Dweller.

My deep brown eyes would turn into black when I transformed or used my gifts. so black that they orbs would appear to have a fluorescent blue glow ring around the pupil, and another around the muscle. My hair would slowly recede and create the vine like tattoo images of veins that would also begin to change from brown to forest green against my caramel skin. My bones would begin to crackle and pop as they shifted outward to reform my body into my creatures form that can dwell in her under water cavern. It was her favorite form, and most gifted.

As I entered the sea with a super human leap, I dipped below the surface just as the webbing of skin spread out between my newly elongated fingers and toes. I chuckled to myself as I thought of my Cavern beasts water form to having limbs just alike a frog. If one was to see her under the water they would definitely be surprised to see a creature similar to a frog but with human core, neck, and hairless head. Her gills were similar to that of a shark, and went from her armpits to her hips.

I circulated the salty fluid of the ocean current through my gills as I dove under the water heading to dip down into the shelf. It had been too long. Far too long.

My water form was slender and swift. She had no detourant other than to return to her scultped cavern to molt this years scales away, oermitting bones to shift and realign in a more flexable manner. I already felt like I was stiffled in "spandex: that contracted with every movement. Once the process started I wouldn't be able to hide or defend myself in case larger prey animals decided to attempt to feast on me. Or, scary thought, a scuba diver attempter to explore my cavern in deeper sections of the continental shelf near this section of sea shore.

I approached my coral "hoopah" that My parents had helped me create before they passed on. I paused only a moent before reflecting on their memory. I ached for them. I wish I knew more about my parents. They were both cavern dwellers with multiple stregthns and gifts in the various forms.

I entered into my "room" to look upward toward the faded moon beam that spilled through the hole that was intentionly created for allowing light in. During the day it caused dazzling light shows, but for not it was just the occasional shimer due to the trace light hitting a particular shell.

Deep Breath.

Searing pain as I began to stretch out my limbs to the fullest extent. Permiting my SCaly skin to tear as would a scab being torn from a wound. I send out a echoing shriek as my central nervous center kicks into gear. I feel the lightning fast pain sharply ravage acouss each tear. The tears have permitted me to be able to manage movement better, but now I need to get the scaley ole skin off in order to stop the scortching burning sensation that remains after the essential tearing.

I go from my stretching tospeeding toward the floor of my cavern. I use the embedded rocks to help tear away the skin that is peeling away slowly from my new skin. This must be similar to how it would feel to have one's hair waxed via using duct tape.

However, experiencing this yearly I have learned that the soothing ocean water will qualm the skin and i will no longer have to do this any more.

As the last forming peices fall down I feel a suddent deep sunken knowlefge that I am not alone. I turn to see purple cirlced orbs of black staring at me from the distance.

What the hell? I've never seen a creature that has purple "hoop" glowing orb eyes. The only creatures that I know to have those type of eyes are... cavern dwellers... And both of my parents had green....

Before I could shriek or dart upward toward the light hole for an emergency exit (to escape) i began to radiate a light... My blue orbs began to beam light outward, and my "skin vines" began to light up blue as if they were their own neon sign. The blue beam seared throught he water and blasted open the top of my cavern...

"Careful" is all I heard before blackness overtook me....
