Chapter 4
*Jessie's POV*
I couldn't believe he'd actually texted me. I thought he'd only taken my number to be polite, and to avoid the awkwardness if we ever happened to run into each other again - which I knew was hugely unlikely. When Max wrote down my number for him it made me seem both desperate and a bit of a loser, and if Max hadn't been there, I probably wouldn't have given him my number, just as a matter of principle. I guess I didn't dislike Niall, I just didnt like what he stood for. But chances were, I was just going to be another girl too him - the reputation of 'heart-throbs' was too well known, and I didn't want to make that mistake.
After we'd finished at work, Max and I drove home and decided to spend the rest of the in our music-room at the flat. Our flat was pretty big, and that was thanks to Max's parents - his dad was a millionaire business, and Max was his only son so he liked to make sure that Max lived comfortably. Max didn't have to work, but he wanted to feel to live independently from his dad.
The music room was where Max and I spent our spare evenings together, if we weren't out with friends or watching a film. The room was like heaven for me - it was a huge room with french windows which opened out onto the balcony, and had a grand piano, numerous guitars and amps and a drum kit.
As soon as we got through the front door, I kicked off my shoes and went straight to the music room. It was somewhere where I didn't have to speak, or think, I could just play, and my music would speak for me. I could go there when I faced things that seemed impassable. Though it sounded cliché, playing piano was my escape.
Max soon followed and got down one of the acoustic guitars and sat down on the stool next to the piano, and the two of us just played into the late hours of the night, not needing to talk to know what the other was saying.

My phone woke me up. I squinted at the screen to see it was 10:04 - I was running slightly late, but I had more time than yesterday to get ready for work - it wasn't a manic rush, luckily. When I unlocked my phone, I saw that I had a text from an unknown number.
From: 07738620549
Ignoring me, are we?
It took me a matter of seconds to realise who it was - Niall. I saved his number, and quickly texted him back.
To: Ally-boy
Not intentionally, Ally-boy. Don't you know it's rude to pester girls?
After sending the text, I slowly climbed out of bed and stumbled into the shower. I heard my phone buzz when I was in the shower, and I had an idea who it was from. I got out the shower quickly, aware of the time and not wanting to be late for work, started to dry my hair and looked at my phone.
From: Ally-Boy
Most girls seem to scream if I even talk to them, Ally-girl, imagine what they would do if i were to pester them. Let's go for coffee.
He was right - girls would literally kill to be in my place, but I didn't seem to care. I could hear Max getting out the shower and heading down to the kitchen, so I new that I had to be quick getting changed.
To: Ally-Boy
Probably scream and report you to the police, let's be honest. I'm busy.
I didn't care what it took, I was determined not to go to coffee with him. I couldn't afford to make myself vulnerable again. It just wasn't an option.
