"Is this really what they want Mom?" I asked trying to get out of it.

"Yes. You know it is, you have to do this Liz. You know they won't let you off until you have." She replied while sighing.

This is just great. I have never met the guy and I am being forced into marriage. I hate the bloody rules.

You could probably do with some context. Okay, its 2024 and I am being forced to marry a complete stranger since I am 17 and not married. The boys get it easier because they are aloud to not be married till they are 23. So basically I could be marrying someone 6 years older than me. Fun huh. Anyway. My names Elizabeth, my mom calls me Liz but my mates call me Lizzy or Beth or anything they can think of. Even Stinky sometimes, but I love them all the same.

"Liz come on. You have to pack your stuff up, he will be here in a hour"

Yay.

I packed all my essential stuff like clothes and tooth brush. Hair brush. Books, as many as will fit. My sentimental stuff and photos. I don't really have too much stuff.

I slipped my money and phone charger into a bag and stared at my empty room. God I hope he's nice, not like the others guys that I've been out with. I sighed and played on my bed for the last time.

"Elizabeth Parks, get your backside down here now and meet your future husband!" My mom screamed.

Oh god, this should be fun then. NOT.

"Coming mother dearest." I reply. Picking my bags up I sigh again. "Goodbye room, you've been good to me for 17 years but I guess this is goodbye, I'm gonna miss you." I walked slowly down the stairs stretching everything out.

I entered the kitchen where they would be. Sitting opposite my mother was, him. He has longish black hair, his shoulders where broad.

"There she is. Greyson, this is Elizabeth." He stood up and turned around. His black hair nearly touched his eyebrows, his chocolate brown eyes glimmered in the light. He's pretty cute actually.

"Hello Elizabeth, my Greyson but you can call whatever you like." He stuck his hand out. I grabbed it and replied.

"Hey, you can call me what you like too."

"Well isn't this lovely." Mom said from behind us. I hate her sometimes. "You two better sign these papers then." She said.

Am I ready for this? I'm not, is the answer.

"Sure." Greyson said. She pulled the papers out of her drawer and handed us two pens.

Greyson signed his first then passed it too me. I looked up at mom to see her reaction. She was smiling really big. Maybe I should be as happy as her, but I'm really not. This is a stranger. I have never met him. before and I have to share a house or apartment with him. What if he's only got 1 bed?

Never mind that. I want my mom to be happy, I signed the paper and slid it over to her.

Time to start the married life I suppose.

We left the house in a rush, pushed by my mom. With my bags in hand we left for him car. He seems nice enough so far, by the time we got to his car which was only about 10 steps away from the door it became really awkward. He opened the trunk so I could put my stuff down which he helped with.

Then we got in his car and drove in silence. Till he spoke.

"So, Lizzy. What do you like to do in your spare time?" He asked trying to fill the silence.
