                                        Abby's POV

I throw myself in front of Macey to protect her, and all I remember after that is Squirt screaming over my unconscious body.

                                        Edward's POV

I walk into my office at 3:30 in the morning and hear the phone ringing like crazy. I quickly pick it up and hear Rachel's voice. She's frantically telling me things. A weight drops into my stomach when I hear her name.

"Rachel, where is she?! Is she out of surgery yet?" I ask, scared for her life.

"She's at the hospital in Washington D.C. She's not out of surgery yet, but she needs you here, Townsend. Come as quick as you can," she hangs up the phone and I'm left alone with my worrying thoughts. I quickly grab my cell phone and sprint to the nearest airport.

While I'm on the plane, the only thing I'm thinking about is her. Why couldn't I have been there to take the bullet for her, literally? I hold back tears, knowing I have to stay strong for her. When I finally get there I sprint to the hospital. I see the whole group of them in the waiting room Rachel, Joe, Cammie, Bex, Macey, and Liz.

"Where is she? Is she out of surgery yet?" I ask frantically.

"She's in room 826 and she survived the operation. She still unconscious, but will be waking up soon. You can go see her if you want," Cammie says.

I quickly thank her and sprint to my Abby's room. I see her hooked up to dozens of tubes and monitors and IVs. She looks so vulnerable. The woman I love may never wake up ever again. I pull up a chair next to her and sit. I take her hand not hooked up to wires. I brush strands of her hair out of her face and kiss her forehead.

"Abby, I don't know if you can hear me right now, but there's something I need to tell you."

                                       Abby's POV

I feel him every time he touches me, leaving a tingling feeling on my skin and electricity running through my body. I can hear him, talking to me.

"Abby, I should have told you this sooner, but I was a coward and didn't. I regret that more than you will ever know," He takes a slow, shaky breath in and continues. "You made me fall madly in love with you, Abby. I'm sorry I'm telling you this now, when you may not be able to hear me, but I love you Abigail Cameron. I always have and I always will," I hear him starting to cry, for me. He loves me. I will myself to wake up. I squeeze his hand and open my eyes a few seconds later.

"I guess it's a mutual thing, because you made me fall madly in love with you," I hoarsely whisper. He looks stunned. "Cat got your tongue, Townsend," I tease. He kisses me passionately on the lips, and I do the same.

"You woke up? For me?" He asks after we break away from our kiss.

"You are the man I love, aren't you?" I reply. I smile, knowing that I can be open to him with my feelings. I love him.

"You scared me, Abby. I thought you were going to die," he says and he starts to cry.

"I'm alive, aren't I?" I ask as I take his hand again. He nods and looks at me with love and affection in his eyes.

"I love you, Abigail," he whispers.

"I love you, Edward," I whisper back. He holds me in his embrace, and I melt into it.
