Chapter 5

The Faerie Wedding

                                                      ⭐

I couldn't sleep that night. Not only did my wing hurt like crazy, but my two best friends in the whole world kept the biggest secret from me:

They were getting married.

"Still awake?" I heard a voice call from the living room.

I sighed.

"Yes, Percy. How did you know?"

"Intuition."

I smirked.

"Haha very funny. But seriously, how did you know?"

He appeared at the doorway. His face was slightly red.

"I heard you moving around in here. I knew it was because you couldn't sleep because of your friends."

I sighed once again.

"Well, you're right. I just can't believe theyes would keep a secret from me like that."

Percy's black hair fell in his face. His pale skin looked illuminated beneath the full moon.

"I guess I'd be pretty mad too, if I had friends."

His tone rang clear and sounded sad and a little envious.

"Percy of course you have friends! I mean, I'm your friend!"

He smiled at me. I couldn't help but get a fluttering feeling in my stomach.

"You'd better get to bed. Your friend's wedding is planned for tomorrow."

I walk over to Percy, getting so close that our breath mixed.

"Thanks Percy. I know I don't know you very well, but thanks."

And with that I give him a tight hug. He tensed, but returned the hug after a few seconds.

Tomorrow should be very interesting.

"Quinn, hurry up! The wedding is in ten minutes!" called Percy outside my bathroom door.

"Hey, I am handicapped you know!" I call back with a chuckle.

My hands run down the pretty cotton white dress I decided to wear. I pull on my stone, my special stone, and secure it with a leather cord. I let my long hair flow down behind me.

"Alright. But I must warn you, I actually dressed up for this..." I say, laughing.

I hear Percy chuckle. I pull open the door and he turns around.

"Wow..." he exclaims, staring. He sees me watching him and turns away, beet red.

I smirk.

"Don't worry. A lot of guys do that."

He laughs nervously.

"A bit big headed, aren't we?"

I chuckle, walking out of the room to grab the invitation.  I look at the location and then hurry out the door, Percy close behind.

"Alright, it's underneath the Great Oak Tree, next to the stream." I explain.

Light music fills the air, and flowers float high above the trees. Small sprites wearing long flowy dresses dance and twirl.
