One Drop

CHAPTER 5.

BRI’S POV.

“Am I interrupting something?”  Belle asks while I move my head towards her.

I quickly recover and step away from Luke. “N-n-nothing at a-all” I stutter.

“Mhhmmm, yeah sure.” She smirks. I then notice Ashton standing right next to her with a confused look towards Luke.

“I love this song.” Luke breaks the awkward silence trying to cover up the fact that we were basically eating each other’s faces.

“Me too, we should go dance. Come on guys lets go.” I grab Lukes hand and basically drag him down the stairs with Ashton and Belle shortly behind us.

We start dancing to A Drop in the Ocean by Ron Pope. It is the nicest song ever; I just love it so much.

BELLE’S POV

I still can’t believe I saw Luke and Bri kissing, she better tell me what happened later tonight.

“Hey babe let me dance with you” some big guy maybe a year or two older than me slurs. I turn around and I am face to face with the big man who looks completely drunk off his ass.

“Uhm, no thank I’m kinda with someone.” I say trying to sound as nice as possible. He just laughs then he suddenly gets serious.

“That wasn’t a question, sweetheart.” I cringed at the nickname.

“I don’t care I’m not going to dance with your drunk ass.” I said quite annoyed making him laugh harder. Then out of nowhere he grabs my forearm and pulls me close to him.

“HEY GET YOUR FILTHY HANDS OFF OF HER.” I hear a familiar voice boom behind me.

I turn around and I am met with those hazel eyes. Ashton slowly walks towards him looking very menacing, which actually is very scary.

“Nah I think I’m good.” He winks toward Ashton and pulls me closer then slowly slides his hands down my waist to my butt, he then lightly squeezes making me jump. Then all of a sudden the guy lets go and falls backwards. Apparently Ashton punched him in the face.

“FUCKIN SHIT.” The guy yells and quickly gets up running towards Ashton. Out of nowhere a vase with flowers comes flying through the air and crashes on his head, making him fall to the floor. I see the vase shatter and the water and flowers fly everywhere along with glass. But it’s not glass that I was afraid of the, the water was flying. I felt a drop land on my foot. I then look towards Bri who has a shocked face on.

“Bathroom, bathroom RIGHT NOW.” Bri thought and I nodded and ran to the bathroom.

We find an open bathroom just in the nick of time. We shut the door and my legs start changing and I fall to the floor.

“What the –“ I quickly turn to face Calum!?! No no no this is not happening.

I look towards Bri and she just looks back between me and Calum.

“I – what the- I don’t kno-“ Calum stutters before Bri quickly puts her hand up to his mouth silencing him.

“We’ll explain later.”  Bri whispers to Calum, “But, please do not tell anyone, meet us after the party.”

“Wha-what are you” he stutters again.

“We’ll explain later, can you hand me that towel.” Bri asks him. He blinks rapidly then realizes Bri asked him a question.

“Wait, what did you say.” He asks.

“Can you please hand me the towel, I need to dry her off asap.” Bri explains and Calum hands her the towel. Bri mutters thanks.

Bri starts to dry my tail off and I look up to Calum who just stares the whole time.

“You know it’s not polite to stare.” I smirk to him then he quickly looks away.

Finally after a few minutes I get my legs back and I stand up.

“Thank you so much.” I thank Bri and she nods and we both look towards Calum.

“Meet us on the beach after the party and we’ll explain everything. You have to promise that you won’t tell anyone, promise.” Bri tells Calum and he nods. I open the door and Calum basically runs out of the room.

“Only had this for what 2 days and someone already knows.” I awkwardly laugh and Bri joins in.

We walk out of the bathroom and we bump into some people. I look up and I’m met with Ashton’s eyes staring back at me.

“I was looking everywhere for you. Where did ya run off to?” he asks.

“Oh nowhere just the bathroom.” I explain and I see him nod.

“ I never said thank you for earlier, so thank you so much for getting that creep away from me.” I put a strand of hair behind my ear shyly looking up to him.

“No problem, he was totally drunk. I’m just glad I was there before anything else happened.” He smiles sincerely to me.

“Thanks.”  I give him a hug and wrap my arms around his neck while his goes to my lower back.

CALUM’S POV.

I just want this party to be over with.  All I can think about is Belle and how the hell she got like that.  Is Bri a mermaid too?  She did say, WE’LL explain later so I guess she would be one.

A girl named Abigail is currently talking to me and I’m just ignoring her, which makes me feel a little bad.  But, if you were in a situation like me, you would be ignoring her too.  I have so many questions to ask her, I’m about to clear out this entire house just so I can ask her questions.

“Excuse me, are you even paying attention.”  Abigail says waving her hand in front of my face.

“Oh sorry, I was in my thoughts.”  Abigail rolls her eyes and walks away.  Can’t there be any nice girl who won’t get mad over everything…I wish.

I walk over to Ashton, Bri, and Belle.  Wanting to get as much information as possible even if it is in a public place.  I feel the need to tell someone else about this, but they would probably tell more people.  What if I told Ashton, he would understand right?

“How’s it going?”  Bri asks widening her eyes.

“Alright.”  I say still in my thoughts.

Bri mouths a ‘don’t tell anyone’ and I nod to her.

The rest of the night was a blur until everyone started to clear out of Ashton’s house.  Hopefully Belle and Bri don’t sneak out on me, I need to figure out what’s going on with them.  I keep my eye out for them, but I can’t really find them anywhere.

But, I do spot Ashton and I quickly run over to him.  “Hey Ash, do you know where Belle and Bri went?”  I ask Ashton with no patience.

“Uhh, I think Belle said they went outside, maybe on the beach?”  Ashton says uncertainly.

“How long ago did they leave?”  I question wanting more information.

“Someone needs a lot of info, but like 5 minutes ago.”  Ash squints his eyes.

“Thanks.”  I walk out of the door as fast as possible, in search of Belle and Bri.

I walk straight to the beach and I make it to the water, I look around and I spot them both standing only feet away from the salt water.  I run over to them and they spot me and start to look down at their feet.
