-It was a Saturday morning and Michael was still sound asleep, as usual. You were in the kitchen with your three year-old daughter, Cassie, while you were making bow shaped pancakes for her and she colored at the table. You finished stirring up the pancake mix then started about pouring the batter onto the pan, arranging chocolate chips to outline the different sections. You made two pancakes like this for Cassie, two for yourself, and poured the rest of the batter on the pan in a circle, using chocolate chips to make it a huge Pokemon symbol for Mikey.

-”Who’s ready for pancakes?!” You said enthusiastically and Cassie raised her hand and screamed ‘ME’ loudly.

-”Now move your drawing so we don’t get any chocolate on it,” You instructed, placing the plate and plastic little kid fork down for your daughter when she obeyed. You move around the table with your own breakfast to sit across from her, catching a glance of her drawing; two stick figures labeled ‘me and daddy.’

-”Tank you, Mummy.” Cassie said, sloppily cutting a piece of the pancake off and shoving it in her mouth. You knew it wasn’t the best idea to let a three year old feed herself, but she’d always been stubborn like her Dad and you resided to just watch her carefully.

-”Mummy, where’s Daddy.” She asked, looking at you innocently with her big eyes.

-”Sleeping, sweetie.” You replied.

-”But I saw him up,” She argued, stabbing at her pancake.

-Your eyebrows furrowed, but you did your best to make it microscopic so Cassie wouldn’t think anything was wrong. You did, however, know that Mikey had been complaining about arm pain that had been bothering him. “I’ll go check, okay?  Stay right here,” You kiss her cheek and dart up to your and Michael’s room.

-”Mikey, it’s me.” You knock.

-”Come in, babe.” You hear him respond sleepily and you open the door, going to stand in front of him sitting on the bed.

-”Everything, okay?” You ask worriedly, bending slightly to rest your arms around his neck. He wraps his  arms around your waist pulling you closer and  kissing your lips lightly.

-”Just my arm again,” He shrugs under your arms.

-”Hmm,” You hum, moving your hands to rest on his biceps. “Must be too ripped.” You smirk and he chuckled before he kissed you again slowly. “If it’s still bothering you, tho, you really should go to a doctor.” You mumbled against his lips

“You worry too much, Lilli,” He replied offhandedly. “Where’s Cassie?” He questioned and you smiled at how much he loved her.

-“She’s downstairs eating pancakes,” You answer pecking him on the lips one last time. “I made you a Pokemon one and it’s ridiculously large.”

-“You’re amazing, Lilli,” He laughed. You pulled back from him and waited until he was up and following you to start downstairs. You’d barely gotten out into the hall when you heard a thud behind you and turned. You screamed out of surprise and horror at Mikey's collapsed form.

-“Mummy?” You heard Cassie call. Your eyes widen, despite their already being saucers, and you sprint down barely catching her at the bottom of the staircase. She couldn’t see her Dad like that.

-“Everything’s fine, just go eat your breakfast,” You said calmly and waited until she was fully in the kitchen before breaking out into a sprint to the phone. As you called the ambulance you started sobbing quietly, but didn’t think Cassie noticed, thank god. It occurred to you next that she would notice when the ambulance arrived and quickly dialed the first person you thought of, whose number you knew by heart.
