A/N: Play song and this story is more modern so you won't see as many frilly dresses and old speak.(bad English XD) This is also one of my favorite songs. Kinda goes with the chapter but not really.

I shut the tall doors that connected the palace and it's gardens. Shutting off the bustling noise of the maids and servants rushing around for my sixteenth birthday. Still three days away they assured me that they would have everything prepared.

I slung the small messenger bag that contained a few nessecities that I would need, considering I would be out here for a while. A few apples. Water. And, of course, gloves. Pulling off the long pink dress my mother picked out I was left in shorts  and a green jacket. Pulling it off I and tying it around my waist and leaving me in a white tank top. I had bought them from a traveler from a place called America. He said it like A-mare-eh-ca. Weird name. I was happy in Scales Wind so I intended to stay right where I was.

I stared at the palace walls reaching to the sky like greedy hands trying to pluck the clouds from the sky. The bricks we're placed tightly together as if the were trying to conserve their body energy.

I pulled my gloves over the delicate skin on my palms. Cuts and scraps scared the skin from the dozen times I had gripped the rough cut stone. Gripping the wall and wedgeing my fingers in the small cracks that the elements had carved out of years and years since the palaces construction.

It wasn't long before I pulled myself over the edge and sat at the top. Letting the cool air blow my long dark hair from my face. The city busted around below me. Markets shouting their prices over others as they tried to sell three day old bread.

Scales Wind. I heard rumors of an ancient legend of a dragon race that one ruled the kingdom. When I was young I had first heard the story my father. Stupidly I asked "And then what happened?" He frowned and placed me on his lap. "Humans hunted them to Extinction in fear they would take over." I cocked my head. "Don't dragons have Scales?" He had nodded with a quizzical look in his face. "Why?" I shrugged "it sounds like we like dragons." He frowned and placed me on the floor. "Go play with your toys sweetie." I frowned. "But daddy. I want to learn more about dragons!" He looked at me. "Go play with your toys" he clipped off each word. I nodded and ran to my room. Sitting on the floor. Tears rolling down my face. I had never seen him snap at me before....

I shook my head. Stop. My mother and father didn't want me out of the walls. Wrapping a cloth around my head I picked my way down the wall and into the city.

I pushed through the crowds looking for one building in particular."JESSIE!" A voice called making me wince. I spun around. A boy with dark hair and a few of his friends walking towards me. They stood in front of me. "I-im not Jessie..." He grinned and grabbed my chin. "Aww....come on Jessica.." He reached for my "hood". "Go away!" I screamed. I tried to pull away. My hood fell off and my hair tumbled over my shoulders. They froze. "P-pri-" I frowned a pushed them away. "I'm. Not. Jessica." I spun and countined walking. I had to find them. They would help me. I needed some one special.
