It had been a long day for Kyungsoo, the choreographer had made him stay back after everyone else left to practice for their performance in a couple of days. By the time he got back to the dorm, he looked at the clock only for it to read 2:00am.
He let out a sigh before walking into the room he shared with Chanyeol, grabbing his towel, and heading for the bathroom.
Kyungsoo turned on the shower before undressing and sitting down under the cold water, holding his head in his hands and his knees bent against his chest before he reflected on the long day.
"Am I really meant to be an idol?" Kyungsoo thought to himself
Suddenly, the stress came crashing down as sobs rocked his body like thunder and tears filled his eyes before flowing down his cheeks. He sat like that for what seemed like hours, just letting the tears fall down his face. Then, came a knock on the door and Chanyeol's soft voice followed.
"Soo? Is that you in there? Is everything okay?"
Kyungsoo stayed silent except for the occasional sob and hiccup as he tried to stay calm. Chanyeol slowly opened the door and was shocked by the sight of Kyungsoo's small body shaking on the shower floor and more importantly, the tears still flowing at a steady pace down his face. He looked into Kyungsoo's eyes and only saw fright and pain. Chanyeol instantly ran over to the smaller one, turned off the freezing cold water and picked up his friend off the floor. He wrapped him up in all the towels he could find and led him back to the room. Which, luckily, they didn't encounter any of the other members. Kyungsoo let his hyung dress him and put him on his bed, instantly burying his face into the sheets that smelt so familiar and calming to him, the tears still slowly falling.
"How can he be so cute?! I just want to protect him, he seems to strong and tough. But it's actually the opposite. He's fragile and sensitive. How could I ever tell him that I've liked him for years?" Chanyeol thought to himself before laying down next to Kyungsoo
"Thank-k you hyung" Kyungsoo said in between sobs.
"Shhh it's okay. Nothing can hurt you now" He tenderly wrapped his long arms around the still shaking body of this friend and crush, expecting him to run away or something. But instead, the opposite, he rolled over and cuddled into Chanyeol's chest.
"Hey Channie... can I ask you something?"
The older one looked him in the eyes and nodded
"Of course you can, you can ask me anything" he replied with a shy smile.
"Well, I was just wondering why you're doing this for me. I don't deserve kindness" Kyungsoo said as his eyes filled once again.
"You do deserve kindness, you deserve all the best things this world has to offer. Being honest, there is a reason why though... It's because well. I've had a crush on you since the day I met you, I want to protect you. I want to love you" Chanyeol admitted, refusing to look into Kyungsoo's eyes.
"What? Do you really?" Kyungsoo's voice was full of hope and happiness
"Yes I-" Chanyeol was cut short as Kyungsoo flung himself on top of him and wrapped his arms around his neck. He buried his face into the shoulder of his new boyfriend and breathed in the relaxing scent.
"I, I love you Chanyeol..." Kyungsoo said nervously
"I love you too baby" He returned the confession with a smile and a breath of relief.
