A/n: This is gonna be a Peter Parker one! I hope you enjoy :) I think it's kind of cute.

You and Peter swung your intertwined hands as you took in the springtime warmth. You had been wanting to learn how to play tennis for a while, but everyone you found either didn't want to teach you or was too busy. Or maybe it was actually just the first one in both situations.

To your luck though, you and Peter both saw someone practicing at the tennis court as you walked by your school.

"Wait here Peter!" You said unlinking your hands and running up to the shirtless boy. He made a confused expression but you didn't see it. "You know how to play tennis?" You asked once you got to the court. You knew the answer to the question, but you didn't know how else to start the conversation. Since you were much closer to him than before you could now see that his cheeks were pink and he was covered in a light sweat.

He answered as Peter caught up with you, despite you telling him to wait for you. "Yeah actually, why? Do you wanna play?" The stranger asked tossing the ball up and then catching it. You debated pretending that you knew how to play and had just forgotten the rules for a few seconds before you answered.
"Actually I don't know how to play." You admitted in embarrassment. "My name's (y/n) by the way."

A thoughtful expression crossed his face. "Well, lucky for you, I clearly do." He said flashing a smirk. His biceps flexed with each toss of the ball. Peter thought he was doing it on purpose and that the blush that lightly laid across his face wasn't from the sun beating down on him all day. Whether he was flexing on purpose or not it was kind of annoying Peter. He crossed his arms from beside you, but was too shy to glare. Instead he just rolled his eyes, and even that felt really daring to him. The shirtless boy ran his hand through his black hair before eyeing you up and down. Peter thought he was trying too hard to look cool, with the way he bounced the ball on the racket and the casualty of his posture while doing so. He thought he needed to keep his blue eyes off of you, even if they were only making eye contact to be polite. Peter briefly thought of his super powers, and how he could probably hit the ball with perfect accuracy, and therefore was much cooler than the douche standing in front of him. The only thing stopping him from being able to teach you was that he didn't know the rules, or how the game worked at all.

"I-I-I know how to play tennis." Peter blurted anyway. He immediately regretted saying that as soon as it came out of his mouth. You turned to look at him, and the tennis boy acknowledged him for the first time.
"Why didn't you say so sooner?" You asked turning to him. The stranger shifted his weight  to one foot and then the other as if he was starting to get bored. It would've saved you a lot of trouble and you were a bit hurt that he watched you search for someone to tutor you in silence.

"I, uh, it was just that, I figured it would've been weird for me to teach you, and on top of that I'm not good enough." The nervous boy stuttered.

"I guess I won't be needing you then." You said as a passive aggressively to Peter.
After he suggested playing tennis with Peter and got rejected he asked, "why don't you take my Snapchat anyway? You know, just in case." Peter started to tap his foot. It didn't make sense that he wanted your snapchat if he was the one that could supposedly play.
"Yeah, okay." You got out your phone in hope that when Peter was busy you could get extra lessons from him.
"(Y/n) I need to get home, like now!" Peter said hugging and puffing in annoyance from beside you. He was flushed a light shade of red.
"Okay, okay, I'll let you guys go, but add me, alright? My Snapchat is neptune.smith .Oh and my name's Dylan."

"Okay, bye Dylan!" Peter yelled as he dragged you off with him. You managed a wave. You felt bad about Peter acting so rude to someone who was just trying to help.
"I don't know how to play tennis." He admitted once you guys were out of ear shot. A relieved sigh escaped him.
"Then why did you say you do?" You asked, genuinely confused. You grabbed his hand and held it in yours, something you always did when walking somewhere with him. Part of it was that you always wanted to be touching him in some way, but it was mostly because it made you feel secure. His hand fit yours like it was meant to be there.

"I wanted to get you out of there! How can you not see that he was clearly hitting on you!" The flustered boy exclaimed throwing the hand that was not holding yours in the air.
"I'm guessing you don't need to get home."
"St-st-st-stop avoiding the subject." You smiled at Peter. He stuttered a lot, but one of the times his stutter came out was when he was angry. You found it hard not to find him adorable when he was mad. You just wanted to squish his cheeks together.

You immediately felt bad for not taking him seriously when you caught his eyes. They were squinted in annoyance and his brows furrowed in menace. You knew he was being too emotional, but also that this was serious to him.
"Did you wanna flirt back or something?" He asked finally, his voice changing.

"Peter that's ridiculous, I don't even think he was flirting with me", you replied to which he scoffed, "and even if he was, I only want you, and only you. You don't need to worry." "Good, besides I'm much cooler." You both laughed.

Even though you were oblivious to his powers, you truly believed he was the coolest guy on the planet.

A/n: 2017: why does everyone hate tennis so much? I really wanna learn how to play it. It looks so fun and like it doesn't involve a lot of cardio. It's also what sparked the idea for this chapter

2020 update: I finally learned to play and was gonna have my first match this week but everything is canceled because of the coronavirus 🙃
