Hello dear readers! As promised, Admin Portia AKA @GeekAlert13 is here with the first ever interview conducted by The Bard Community!
Hurrayyyyyy!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

For the first interview, I wanted to interview the author of one of the first books I ever read when I first joined Wattpad. (June 16th, 2017)

Let me just say this, I am so glad I read xLaurensLaurie's book because I'm aware that there are a lot of teen fiction writers out there, but Lauren's writing style is something quite different.

With over 445k reads, Lauren must be doing something right with her story titled Call Me Zero (Cover to the side)

A story about how a school pen pal project (through email though) turns out to be something bigger than Angelica (our protagonist) could ever imagine, Call Me Zero is indeed one of it's kind.

So I went ahead and interviewed the marvellous human being that is xLaurensLaurie. Now I won't ramble on forever. I know what you're here for so let's get on to it.

Q¹:  What inspired you to write Call Me Zero?

Ans: My inspiration for Call Me Zero is not actually a 'what' but a 'who'.  I actually found two very good guys at school and thought about how fun it would be if they met someone like Angel. I'm not stalking or anything (😅), that's kind of weird. But my characters are mostly based off of my friends. Yes, I actually have friends.

Boy! I wish I had such interesting friends that I could write a book on them. But oh well!

Q²: Is Call Me Zero the first book you ever wrote?

Ans: Not really. I've written a few books before but never actually published them.

I wish you had! I really do. Oh but there are other great books by Lauren for those curious to check them out! Go on, give them a read!

Q³: Where do you usually get inspiration for your books?

Ans: Well I'm a student still, so most of my inspiration comes from my school.

Where is your school? I'm moving there! 😂😂

Q⁴: What did surpassing 100,000 reads feel like?

Ans: Wow, I didn't dare to dream that big at all! So the feeling of surpassing that number is still unexplainable. It feels so great to know that people are actually reading my book and that I'm actually making them laugh and smile.

We totally get you, girl! 😀

Q5: Tell us your likes and dislikes about Wattpad.

Ans: What I like about Wattpad is the wide variety of books that is available for everyone. Also the fact that young and new writers like me get a shot at writing a book and being recognized for it.

A dislike is probably also the sane thing. I mean with so many books out there, it's kind of hard to get your book to stand out. Sometimes, those really good books and authors get covered and buried under other very popular books. And they don't even get that many reads even though their work is amazing.

So I guess that's one thing I don't like about Wattpad very much. But I still love it all the same.

Preach!!! 👐

Q6: Tell us five facts about yourself.

Ans: Five facts about myself! Ready for it?
1) I guess something that I really want everyone to know about me is that I have alopecia. Which means that I do not have hair. And that could be really hard for me. Sometimes it makes me lose confidence and I can't help but feel like I'm always below others. But, I'm proud of myself and I like the way that I am.

2)  I'm not a sociable person. I'm really shy most of the time but I get crazy once you get to know me.

3) My real name is Princess. Yes it is. It's not even my nickname. It's literally, Princess.

4) I love love love sweets! As long as it's sweet I'll eat it!

5) I want to go to Disney World just to meet Peter Pan. I don't even care about anything else.

That's the most fun 5 facts about oneself I've ever come across! You're great, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Q7: Any tips you have for aspiring writers?

Ans: For me, I'm still an aspiring writer. I know that I still have a lot of room for improvements and I still have much to learn. But, I guess something I learned while being an aspiring writer is that "Just write it down!".  If you get an idea in school or at the mall, just write it down on your notes or anywhere.

You'll be surprised on how much story you get written down. Then maybe once you get home, sit down and add to it. Or maybe rewrite it. I rewrite my chapters all the time and I still can't believe how many things change. My dialogues change, some scenes get deleted or changed to some other part of the story.

A lot of things have changed for the better since I started rewriting my chapters before publishing them.

Duly noted!

Q8: Tell us a joke you found really funny.

Ans: Oh no. I'm bad with jokes!
Oh whale... Get it? Oh whale instead of Oh well. Nah? Okay.

Hahahaha! 😅😅😅

Q9: If you were given the choice to do anything in life that you haven't done yet, what would it be?

Ans: I wanna go to Disney World and meet Peter Pan!

Somebody take this girl to Disney World! 😂😂😂

Q10: Books or Movies?

Ans: Books all the way!

I hear ya! #TeamBooks

Q¹¹: Anything you want to say to your fans? (Offer life advice, dedicate a song, tips on how to get a guy like Philip maybe? 😂 JK)

Ans: Thank you all for your amazing support for me and Call Me Zero! I grew so much from this experience and it's all because of you guys! I'm glad that I made you guys smile and laugh and I hope I can continue doing that.

And because I love you all, here's a CMZ (Call Me Zero) secret because I think you deserve this. I USED to like both Philip and Maven in real life. Whenever I used to talk about it with my best friend Madi (Hi!), I would use the code name Zero for Maven because I didn't have any classes with him at that time, and Seventh for Philip, because I used to be a tech aide in my seventh hour, and well, Philip was a counselor's aide in the same hour.

But, I GREW OUT OF THOSE feelings and OMG I'm not Angel! But I guess that's where the idea for the code names came from.

Wow! That was awesome. I'm seriously contemplating moving to where you live. For those who haven't read the book yet, don't worry this was spoiler free! Well sort of. 😂

Thank you so much to Princess AKA xLaurensLaurie for taking time out of her day to chat with us! Well readers, if you made it this far, what are you waiting for? Go check out her works and leave a little message if this interview brought you to her profile.

I hope you had as much fun reading this as I did conducting the interview. Until next time!

Admin Portia. 😀
