Hospital

Boy: So now you know about me wearing my scarves, tell me why you always wear gloves.

Girl: I cut. I have cut since I was thirteen. I just cut on my hands so that I can cover them, a bit like Elsa really.

Boy: You are very cryptic.

Girl: I do everything with reason.

Boy: I noticed.

Girl: What would you do if I died?

Boy: What are you talking about?!

Girl: It's going to happen eventually.

Boy: Stop sounding defeated. I know your condition is getting worse okay? stop rubbing it in my face. If you were to die, I'd kill myself. Slowly and painfully, because I know that's what you are going through. I'd taint my skin to look like the sky above at nighttime so that I'd dissolve piece by piece and let you put me back together.

Girl: Why?

Boy: Don't cry, please. I'd do it because I'd never gotten to actually live with you.

Girl: What?

Boy: That came out wrong. I meant that I never got the chance to take you on dates, or how I never would get the chance to ask you to be my girlfriend. I never would have gotten to properly kiss you under the rain, or how I would see you wearing my ring on your hand or how I get to see you chasing around our little kids. That- DOCTOR!

The heart monitor stopped.

There is no breath coming from her chest.

It is to late.
