Dear diary,
I went to my favourite cafe on the block today. You know, the one with the big book shelf with fairy lights decorated around the entire place. With polka dot lanterns flapping outside the window and two brown leather sofas facing each other in front of the fireplace. Nothing different.
When I went to the counter, Karen was waiting there with her hair tied back in a messy ponytail and her stained apron tied around her waist. How could she look so pretty while working? I can't even pull off the messy hairstyle look. She's got the life; she's pretty, she works, she has a tall smart boyfriend, but most of all she is my best friend in the entire world. It sucks that she's five years older than I am because then I would have someone to hang out with let alone talk to at school.
She greeted me with a smile as she finished sprinkling cocoa on my hot chocolate.
"I'm guessing you wanted this?" She said as she pushed the mug towards me.
"Now how could you possible know?" I smiled back to her.
"Because you've come here everyday since we've opened."
"And how long has that been?"
"Hm let me think. About three years!" We both cracked up laughing as I picked up the pink fluffy marshmallow that was carefully placed on the saucer. "By the way, I've saved you your seat." Karen pointed towards the light aqua green stool at the front window, beneath the wooden bench, with a handwritten note reading 'reserved'. I smiled as I lugged my school bag over my shoulder and walked towards my seat.
I pulled my binder out of my bag which has all of my notes and began my geometry homework.
Twenty minutes later, I finished my mathematics, English and French homework. That's a new time record! I pulled out my book and began to read.
Nothing much happened after that. Just walked home. Had dinner. Read. And now I'm going to go to sleep.
