"Hey," I'd recognize that voice even from miles away.

"Hi, how are you?" I cocked my head sideways just to acknowledge her coming but not really looking at her.

"Fine? I guess..."

"You guess?" I asked.

"Well, things aren't really falling together as I planned. I mean none of the things that happen to us really goes accordingly to plan but, hey! At least, I tried, right?" She chuckled a low one.

It's been a long time since I last talked to her and that didn't end well. I know, I remember that moment so vividly in my head. So I missed this. Her voice. Her presence in general, just near me.

"What?" I tried asking her, because frankly, what she said was a lot to take in... I think.

Again, she chuckled that chuckle which can make my stomach turn upside down any day. After all this time, I wasn't able to turn off these feelings. I wish there was a switch somewhere so I can just manually kill it off.

"Nothing, I must have blubbering things out, sorry."

"It's fine," I tried to give a smile.

Awkward. The normal ambiance we had before was long gone. I didn't know what else to talk about. Suddenly I just forgot how to speak properly.

The bus came to the rescue, arriving. I entered first, anxious of everything. I know she might notice I'm indifferent but I guess I don't know how to act normal anymore.

The bus driver gave me a look I couldn't decode.

But I didn't look back.

I still couldn't look at her.
