Bella pov

I walk into Jasper and I's bedroom, my heart heavy. I look around and see all the photos of our son and our family. I walk over to the bookshelf and grab a photo of Carlisle, Emily, Jasper, and I. We are smiling in front of the fountain at the castle.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++FLASHBACK+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

"Carlisle!! We have to talk a picture!" Emily begged and laughed. Jasper and I were already in front of the fountain, with Jane holding the camera. Carlisle sighs and stands next to me.

We snake our arms around each other's waists and smile. Jane snaps the photo and we all separate to see. Jane pulls it up, and let me say.

It's perfect. We all look happy and we are all together. "Print me out a copy! I want to frame it!" I say, smiling. Jane runs inside while we walk around the garden. Carlisle walks up to me and smiles.

"I've missed you, Isabella." He says, hugging me. I hug back, enjoying the hug. "I've missed you too, Carlisle. You were and are one of my best friends."

"Forever and always, Bella."

"Forever and always, Carlisle."

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++END OF FLASHBACK+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I feel the tears rolling down my face as I put the photo back. "Forever and always, Carlisle."

I move to the desk, where Jane has left a book. "The First Few Months of  Carlisle Jasper Whitlock Volturi." I have never opened it. I really should.

I grab the book and walk to the bed. I sit down and open to the first page. It's a paragraph from Jane.

' Hi there, Carlisle! You're only 8 months old as I write this.  But, when you read this, you'll be 18. But, there is something you should know. We are mates. I felt it when your mother, Isabella brought you home. I was awestruck I had finally met my mate. I can wait 17 years for you. It will go by fast, I know it will. Enjoy your childhood, love. It goes away fast.

                                                              Love Always,

                                                                                  Jane Volturi'

Carlisle and Jane were mates. I-I cannot believe it. He could have been happy with her, and she would finally be happy. That damn newborn. That damn newborn ruined my life. They ruined my family.

I flip to the next page and see a photo from the day we brought him home. He is in my arms, fast asleep, while Jasper looks over both of us. Behind us is Jane, as she looks over our shoulder. She was being protective, which is understandable.

But, being protected against a newborn, that is very very difficult. They are faster and stronger than us. Which makes them at least 10 times more dangerous.

I turn to the next page and see something I never even knew happened. Jane, holding Carlisle and feeding him. The time on the clock reads 2:34 am. I look at the date stamp and it was 3 weeks after we adopted him.

I feel even more tears roll down my face. As I look at this photo, my tears fall onto the pages. I turn the page and the next photo is from his photo shoot. It is him in Jasper's arm, while I hug Jasper from behind. I honestly think this photo, is the best photo I have ever seen.

It shows our family. Our small family.

Next to that photo, is a note. It is from Marcus. Marcus signed his name as Grandpa.
