chapter 5

As Dark looked through the brothers rooms Star took all of her sisters classes for her. Star knew about her sister’s plan, so she went along with it. ‘What are you looking for, sister?’ Star asked Dark through telepathy.

‘Something that has anything useful on the brothers. Like weaknesses or at something that can kill them with a single blow.’ Dark replied back.

‘But why do we want to hurt them? They’ve been nothing but good to us.’

‘They are blood suckers. The only thing they do care about is having something to satisfy their hunger.’

‘Oh…But I still don’t see the reason to hurt them or kill them.’ Star frowned.

‘We don’t want to get too comfortable with them. We need to make sure if they are willing to help us both.’

‘Oh, now I get it.’

‘Let me know when you guys are on your way back to the house.’

‘I will. Be careful sister.’

‘To you as well.’

Star did what she was told and kept an eye on the brothers. As for Dark, all she was able to find is Subaru’s knife. “That’s it?” She questioned as she held it in her hands. “This will have to do.” She tucked the knife in her back pocket and continued to search for anything else that could be useful.

As for Star, she was with Ayato in class. “Does your sister always come down with something?” The redhead vampire asked her.

“Not really. Dark has insomnia and doesn’t eat much. So I think that might be the reason for her sickness.” Star answered.

“And you don’t get sick at all?”

“Nope!” Star smiled. “My sister gives me the right amount to food to eat. She’s like my mother in a way. I just wish we can figure out what the hell we are.”

“You create water and she creates fire. Is all that you can do?”

“No. We can also appear and disappear from people’s sight. Dark and I really appreciate you and your brothers helping us out….we really do appreciate your help.” Star smirked and made sure that it was hidden.

By the end of the night, her and the brothers went back to the mansion. When Dark heard the front door opened, she quickly went back to bed and lied down. Star went to Dark’s room and closed the door when she had entered.

“Sister, it’s me. What did you find?” Star asked her as she sat on the bed.

“Nothing much.” Dark sat up from the bed and pulled the things she found from under the pillow. “All I could find was Subaru’s knife from his room and that was it.”

“What did you find out about the knife?”

“All it can do is kill another vampire just by stabbing them in the heart.” Dark placed by the knife back under her pillow. “Just a little longer before we can destroy them.”

“But is it right?”

“Who knows….Who cares. Vampires may be beautiful and not all bad creatures, but the only thing they do care about is the fears of humans, killing, and blood. You understand, don’t you?” Dark looked at her with a cold look on her face.

“Yes, Sister….” Star frowned. Even though it felt wrong, Star had to follow her sister wherever she went because Dark was the person she had in her life.

There was a knock on the door and Reiji had walked in with a bowl of soup in his hands. “This should help you feel better in a few days. It’s soup with chicken and spinach. You should eat it while it’s still hot.”

“Thank you, Reiji.” Dark smiled at him as he handed the bowl of soup to her. Dark took a few sips of it while Reiji left. “So,” Dark said, putting the bowl aside on the drawer. “What do you want to do? The brothers are in their own rooms or somewhere else around the mansion. We can do whatever you want.”

“Yay! Let’s go to the game room!” Star cheered.

“Let’s go.” Dark smiled and got out of bed. The two of them went to the game room and played pool.

“I love being in the game room. It’s the quietest room there is in this mansion.”

“Tell me about it.” Dark smiled at her little sister. But that grin went away when she felt another presence in the room. Dark turned around and put her hands in front her and stopped a dart that was aimed for her face.

“What a nice catch, little witch~” Laito chuckled seductively. He was the one who threw the dart. Dark glared at him as continued to make the dart levitate in the air.

“Woah… How did you do that, big sister?” Star asked Dark. “I’ve never seen you do that before....”

“Yes, it is something new. Or were you able to do that the entire time~” Laito smirked. Dark’s eyes widened in fear as the perverted vampire figured her out.
