Ever since you had received the news that you had been transferred to the E Class after failing a few tests and getting into a pointless argument with the top student in the school, Asano, you and your parents hadn't gotten along. They were disappointed for raising a kid such as yourself, and it wasn't long before they kicked you out of the house.
With nothing but your school books and whatever clothes and toiletries you could fit in your suitcase, you headed over to the one house you knew you would always be welcome.
Karma's house.
You two had been best friends for as long as you could remember. It wasn't unusual that you two would start dating. You had been together since before his suspension, and you stuck with him throughout all of it. You sighed, knowing that you at least wouldn't lose him because of the transfer.
As you continue on your journey to his place, it started raining. And not just a light drizzle, no, it was pouring as hard as it could. You could even hear thunder and see lightning in the distance. You had nothing to protect yourself, so you just kept running.
Finally, after thoroughly soaking your clothes, you reached Karma's house. You knocked on the door, praying that he hadn't gone to sleep yet, as it was after dinner when your parents had kicked you out.
You weren't worried about having to explain any of this to Karma's parents considering they were almost never home. You kept knocking, banging louder and louder as you waited for an answer
Thankfully, it wasn't long before you heard someone grumbling as they stomped over to the door.
"Who is bothering me this late at night-" he yelled, his face red from anger and irritation until his eyes landed on you, "(Y/N)?!"
Not one part of you was dry, not even your bags. You were shivering by now, the wind picking up as a storm seemed to be approaching.
Karma quickly moved out of the way of the door as he pulled you inside.
"What are you doing here? And why do you have a suitcase? If you were going to run away, why didn't you leave tomorrow?" he worried as he went to get a towel for you.
"I-I didn't run away..." you stuttered as you tried to warm yourself up. Karma walked back in with a fluffy (F/C) towel.
"Then what happened?" he asked as he wrapped the towel around you, his hands rubbing up and down your arms as he tried to create some friction.
"T-they kicked m-me out...b-because I'm in the E Class n-now..." you sniffled as you looked away from him, trying to hide the tears that were starting to fall.
"Your parents did this to you...?" he growled. You nodded, burying your face into his chest as you let out the tears you had been holding back the entire night.
He guided you over to the couch, pulling your exhausted form onto his lap. He didn't even care that you were still soaked from walking in the rain. He rubbed your back as you sobbed into his chest.
He couldn't understand why they would kick you out. Sure, you may have ended up in the E Class, but it's not like that was entirely your fault. Yes, the school blamed it on your failure of the past couple of tests, but he knew what the real reason was. You had embarrassed Asano after he picked a fight with you, and as revenge, he got his Dad to transfer you to the E Class.
Karma didn't mind you being in the E Class. It meant he would get to see you every day, and you two could practice assassination together. It only angered him that they would discriminate you, and that terrible things would happen to you every day for no reason. But to think your parents would do something like this to you.
