Prologue
"When I started here at Rolling Hills, I never thought I'd be valedictorian. But here I am, up here, reciting my valedictorian speech." Kat's speech ended moments after that.
At least an hour later, a familiar name was finally called. "Alexandra Van Hoffe," called the principal. When she had walked up the ramp to retrieve her diploma, he whispered, "Wow, you actually graduated. I never thought I'd say it."
"Well I'm glad I surprised you, old man." She smirked at him and made her way around. As she made her way down the ramp, her friends, Luke, Ashton, Michael, and Calum cheered loudly from the hills of the park. She winked at them and walked back to her spot.
A few minutes later, another familiar name was called. "Katarina May Waters."
She walked up the ramped and avoided getting tripped by Alex's extended leg. Katarina muttered a few words under her breath before shaking the principal's hand and getting her diploma.
"Very proud of you," he said to Katarina as she kindly took the diploma.
She blushed and smiled before turning around and making her way back to her seat.
"Woo, go Katarina! Way to graduate!" cheered Louis from his spot on the hill.
"Proud of ya!" Niall called as soon as Louis's insane clapping had stopped.
Alex rolled her eyes and turned to the girl sitting next to her before saying, "She's such a know it all."
