This is my homework, is pretty, I think is the thing more rational with my mind write. Thank you.

12 years a slavery.

This starts like this. We lived in a horrible time. What did people think of it? That it was fine, nothing mattered but for some it was painful. Sometimes we did not think clearly. We have always treated people with disadvantages as we want.

--What do you think about that?--

--I think it hurts so much—

To know that you cannot defend yourself because you could be killed, to think they could treat you like animals because you were not white; sometimes it is absurd because they thought to have the power, when all persons are equal.

Sometimes we cannot imagine the pain that could be given to black people, I mean, been honest, it maybe hurts a lot because the leather against skin burns, cuts and punctures.

Many people did those things because in that time it was a requirement. The good “Master” treated them with respect and love, in others cases the “Master” gave them their freedom if the “Negros” achieved what they wanted. But some “Master” did not. If some “Negro” knew to read and write he was killed immediately because the “Negros” were made to serve, actually, they had a lemma “Only what “Master” teaches me”. They could play some instruments like violin and flute.

Some “Master” saw their slaves like a distraction or some game. In the movie, many “Master” called them at 2:00 am to force them to play music and dance.

The “Master” men have a really horrible mind, because they abused or touched the “Black women”. They could not say anything because it will be a sin since the man marriage.

The “Master” women could exercise some power, but not like the man because slaves only obeyed men. Wives always suspected and the "black women" when thinking that as the "master" had touched them or something, they might have more authority over the same lady, what bothered them ending up being battered or abused in all terms.

--Is something rare call them “Negros or Black people” because I feel as if I was discriminating them for their skin tone and is something extremely annoying—

Well, going back by to my theory, many people at the time thought that being superior to black people could take off their rights and to me that is totally illogical. I think that people did not measure their rational level. Although it sounds weird for a 15 year old girl who only makes an essay, they never rationed, people can become irrational; although sometimes we are.

--Have you ever wondered what do you think about black people?

--I think they are just like us, they are very good people

--Why do you know that?

--I know black people that are very kindly, so polite and perhaps would give his life for yours-

Well. For being a 15 year-old girl, I think too much about "What would have happened if…" Do you understand? Well, I got to fifth grade and we talked about slavery I thought, why that is done to good people? I mean, they are normal people like us. To have different color does not mean anything.

Let’s go back to Abraham Licoln’s presidency, he wanted to free the slaves, he made a good thing for USA but many still refused to collaborate, to think that there were many contradictory votes simply because they wanted to see others suffer. Besides being tacky, is immature and absurd.

As we sat in the audience I thought "Today we are going to see a funny movie" or something, but no. When it started I felt a little of happiness for the man who was "free", but when the moment of realizing that leather crashing into the skin you may feel that disgust with fear and a bit of resentment in people that hurt a free man. Although they would not know but why should not they believe him? And then you say to yourself, "Why in that time there was not even a consideration".

When the first hour ended we walked to the classroom and I stilled in shock and I asked my partner, it was horrible right? And she agreed and gave me a shy smile, I just got back to my table and I wrote in my notebook the names of the characters from the movie.

Nobody talked about the theme, but I still remembered or thought in the same pain that a person can feel, a person that wants to be happy, well, being happy in terms of Freedom.

When I started to write this “essay” I could think about some other things such as: Intolerance, emotional instability, moral and lack of comprehension.

Sometimes we do not even look our mistakes like the “masters” since they did not think in all the pain caused and with all the cheek they thought “what have I done to receive this? Well, it is simple – to hurt to those that deserve respect.

Then I realize 12 years of slavery is a true story where more than thousands of slaves were abused by irrational people.
