Let's make something clear from the start. This isn't my story. I'm Sophia but think of me as just the narrator. This is actually my Mum's story, or fantasy if you will. It's hard to say for sure exactly which one it is. I can't tell you why yet, that would take away from the story. Mum used to tell me this story all the time when I was younger. It was my favourite. Full of magical creatures, action and adventure all packed into one. I loved it and even at 15 years old I still do. Then two years ago Mum got sick. Real sick. She was taken into hospital and they said she had bowel cancer. She was put on chemotherapy and stayed in the hospital for the next 7 months. Eventually they let her go but Mum had to quit work at 43 and stay at home. She was still weak and she didn't look healthy. Her hair was all gone, her skin pale, she was thin. She was always tired but even so, no matter how much pain Mum might have been in she was always smiling. It was like that for a long time. Dad had to take up another job to support us, Mum was always the one that brought in more money. Even so he did his best and we got by. 3 months ago Mum went back into hospital, she had gotten really bad again. That was where she stayed until last week when she passed away...
Mum's funeral is next week and the house feels like a cold place now...without Mum's bright smile. Dad is still out a lot, working. He's trying his best to be strong and put on a brave face but he's struggling, we both are. It seems like the whole town is grieving. Mum was the kind of person that if you were lucky enough to meet her, you would have loved her. She was beautiful, smart and kind it was impossible not too...
I guess I'm getting distracted. This is Mum's...tale, yeah let's call it that. I'm just the one to write it on paper. For the sake of the story I'm gonna call Mum by her name which is...was Jade, if I don't I'm afraid that this is going to get pretty confusing. The stories fresh in my memory because Mum told me it for the last time when I visited her last time...before she passed away. Mum explained it all in such detail and I just hope that I can re-tell it all the way she did. Some might be thinking well why write it down if you remember it so clearer? It's a good question. The truth is Mum isn't around to tell me this story anymore and I'm afraid of forgetting the details. That's why it called for this, me making a hardcopy. That way I can read it whenever I want and maybe my children will read it too, if I have any that is. I don't mind who reads this because Mum's tale should be known. It's amazing and everything a young girl might dream it to be. Well here goes nothing...

FantasyI don't think anyone really believed Mum when she said that this story was all true. A story containing a magic mirror, another dimension and a dragon couldn't possible be true but she claimed that it was until her dying breath. I'll leave whether t...
