Thirty more seconds. I think, looking at the clock, with my pencil tapping against my books.

The bell rings, and I shoot out of my seat. It's finally time for lunch! I think, happiness overwhelming me, and attempt to rush out of the classroom.

However, in a hurry to exit the classroom, I don't notice my physics teacher calling my name until we're both out the door.

"Sharon," My teacher, Mr. Rome says as he places his hand on my shoulder.

I jump, startled and turn around to face him. "Yes?"

"Sharon, I know this is your fourth day, but already, you are failing my class." He says. "I want to help you, so please, come see me after school."

I get nervous, and feel a pain of guilt. I'm not used to failing anything, so the fact that my grade is on a verge of an F haunts me.

"I'm so sorry Mr. Rome." I need to come up with excuses that are partly true. "I'm trying as hard as I can. It's just that this lesson, I haven't learned yet, and since I came while you were in the middle of it, I guess it's hard to catch up. I'm not so good with physics; I never was to be honest."

"Then come to my after school review lessons." He says. "They're a big help because I go over things I couldn't in class."

I feel another pain in my stomach. I hate after school reviews. And especially since my mom doesn't know my grades, I can't show her I need tutoring. I'll have to do this on my own. So, I come up with another excuse.

"I would love to go, unfortunately though I'm getting really busy at home with some complicated and personal problems, so I can't get much of my homework or studying done." I say. Not really a lie, as I am dealing with a ghost. "I'm really trying. I really am."

Mr. Rome nods and sighs. "I understand, just remember that it's your grade." He says. "I guess I can always ask a classmate to help you with your studies during lunch probably."

Ugh. "Oh, I don't really have any friends in this class though, so I don't know who I would ask to help," I say. Please just let me leave to deal with this another time.

"Well," he starts. "Josh has excellent grades. Maybe I'll ask him."

I tense up. "Oh no, that's okay. You don't have to ask him. We have a few classes together so I'll be able to ask him myself," I say with my hands lifted.

He looks at me. "Oh, is that so? Alright then, have a good day." He says and begins to walk down the hall way.

"You too," I say.

"And I hope things get better for you at home," he says as he pushes up his glasses.

"Thank you for your concern," I say, and walk towards the opposite direction so I could visit my locker first. So much for getting to the cafeteria quickly, I guess now I'll just take my time so when I get there the lunch line won't be as long.

When I get to my locker, I put away my previous items, and take out my art stuff, and place them into my bag. "That's that," I mutter. "Off to lunch."

"Hello!" I hear a voice behind me.

I turn around, seeing nobody, and instantly know its Mary. "Mary, why are you still here? I thought I told you to go home!"

Mary then appears. "And I told you I wasn't going to promise anything," she says.

As I take a look at what she's wearing, I'm shocked. It's the school uniform. "Why are you wearing that?" I ask. "I thought I said you couldn't some to school with me."
