i hate you (Max x Shy Reader)

chapter 1

    (sorry, i switch pov's alot from 1st to 3rd person)

    you sighed as you stared out the bus window, watching the trees pass by, 'i can't believe my parents did this to me' you thought to yourself, your parents had signed you up for summer camp, because they, "needed some time without you." and, "thought you needed time outside."

yeah fucking right, they just didn't want you around, you cursed your parents out, so they sent you away, because you had "bad behavior" when that was the first time you'd ever done something like that

they wanted this perfect little girl, and because of it you were shy for most of your life, until you decided you were done with their shit, and cursed them out, but after that experience, your anxiety was higher than ever.

your face slammed against the seat infront of you as the bus came to a fast stop.

"the kid's here." the bus driver said to a strangely tall man outside the bus, he had orangish brown hair, freckles, and brown eyes, he was also wearing what looked like a camp shirt with a small brown jacket, a bandana around his neck, and shorts.

his eyes were gleaming with excitement, he honestly looked like he just snorted some coke, but the kid next to him had the complete opposite vibe.

he had light brown skin, dark black hair, and beautiful light green eyes, he was wearing a blue hoodie with a yellow shirt under and some regular old jeans and sneakers.

he looked like someone stuck a pole up his ass and left it there, his face had this bored expression showing that he didn't care about anything or anyone, this kid may be a handful.

"thank you quartermaster!" said the tall freckled man,"nice to meet you! you must be Y/N right?" he asked, i just nodded quietly, "my name is David! and i'm your camp counselor!" he exclaimed, "and this is Max!"

he said pointing to the green eyed boy next to him, the boy looked at you, and said, "welcome to hell, princess."

"language!" said David, "anyways, lets show you around our wonderful camp!" he said, cheerfully walking into the campgrounds, you sighed as you grabbed your bag, and started walking.

T I M E                                               S K I P

after David showed you around, he assigned you a cabin, "you will be in a cabin with Max, Neil, and Nikki!" he said, leading you to the cabin.

when you got there, you went right inside, and put your bag on the empty bed, "thank god, that was so damn heavy." you said, sighing in relief.

"so you do talk." you jumped slightly, and turned around to see Max behind you, "oh, uh, yeah, i-i uh.." you stuttered, you were really shy, and weren't good at talking to people

he chuckled softly, amused at your struggle of speech, "calm down will ya? why are you so nervous? this is just summer camp, man the hell up princess, because some of the kids here aren't gonna deal with your nervous bullshit." he said, then walked away

'man, what an asshole' i thought to myself, i sighed as i unpacked a little, putting my clothes under my bed and my toiletries in the bathroom

"this'll do for now" i said to myself, then, over the speakers, the familiar loud and cheery voice of David boomed through the camp, "EVERYONE COME TO THE MESS HALL FOR LUNCH!" gladly, you made your way towards the mess hall, hoping to maybe meet some new friends.

when you walked in, your anxiety hit you like a truck, it was so loud, and there were so many people, and you got so nervous, to the point where your face turned red. quickly and quietly, you got your food, and sat alone, you were too scared to try and talk to anyone.

after a little while, a girl with magenta eyes, turquoise pigtails, red overalls and a yellow shirt walked over, and sat down next to you

"hi! i'm Nikki!" she said, a wide grin on her face, "uh.. i.." you couldn't seem to get any words out, and that made you even more nervous, you took a deep breath, and calmed down a little

"hi Nikki, i'm Y/N!" you managed to say, her smile grew even wider "nice to meet you Y/N!" she said happily, you looked away, and tried to get yourself together, Nikki then gave a confused, but concerned look

"hey, are you alright Y/N?" she asked, seeming a little worried, "oh, i'm sorry! i just get nervous easily," you said, giving her a warm smile

she mumbled to herself for a second, then she quickly grabbed my wrist, and dragged me to another table

"i'd like you to meet my friends!" she exclaimed, she then pointed to a guy with blue eyes, brown curly hair, a yellow turtle neck, brown pants, and some regular old tennis shoes

"this is Neil!" she said, he shyly waved, and you waved back, she then went to introduce Max, but you interrupted her, "i've met him before.." you said
quietly

"alri-" Nikki started, but then got interrupted, "campers! your attention please!" David said, everyone turned and stared at David, "we have a new camper! Y/N, would you please come up here" he asked politely, you sighed, as you slowly walked to the front of the mess hall, everyone stared at you, and you didn't like it

"please introduce yourself Y/N!" David said, then, someone yelled from one of the tables, "you already said her name dipshit," Max said, you snickered, and soon enough, you were laughing harder than ever

"Y/N, are you ok?" David asked, then he too started to chuckle, then everyone started laughing

"i'm sorry! i, uh.." you stuttered, you then took a deep breath, and continued, "hello everyone! i'm Y/N, it is wonderful to meet you all!" you said, everyone then welcomed you to camp, and continued with lunch

you sighed in relief, that wasn't as scary as you thought it'd be. you went back to the table with Nikki and everyone else, and sat down, you looked at Max, and smiled softly, he looked at you for a second, and then quickly turned away

'what's his deal?' you thought, you shrugged it off and started up a conversation with Nikki til lunch was over

you put away your tray, and walked outside with Nikki and the gang, you weren't comfortable talking to Max or Neil yet, but you tried to anyways

"hey, uh, Max, Neil, Nikki, " you said, they all turned around and looked at you, "what do you want?" Max asked rudely, "well, i uh, just wanted to say, i really hope we can be good friends, and i'm glad that you guys are letting me be your friend." you said, smiling and looking off to the side

"why wouldn't we let you be our friends?" Neil asked, "you seem pretty cool, it's not like we would reject you." he continued, you smiled a big bright smile

"thank you, Neil." you said, Max scoffed loudly and turned away, "whatever, just don't be annoying and you can stay." Max said, you giggled softly, and just continued walking

MAX'S POV

'ugh, another person i have to deal with' i thought to myself, 'but maybe she can help us escape this prison' i smirked and looked at Y/N, she was actually quite pretty, with her long brown hair, blue eyes, and soft rosey cheeks

but love is pointless, so, why.. why do i feel this way...
