Chapter 1:

“Now girls.” my mom said as she crouched down to meet my sister’s eyes.

She was wearing one of those tight business pencil skirts. I wondered how she bent down with that on as she continued.

“I am going to drop you both off at the airport. You are to get off the plane your cousin will be there to get on the other plane back home. You aren’t going to talk to any strangers and you will help your cousin with her bags. Ok?” she asked.

My sister, Rose, put on a smile and she nodded. Our mom smiled at her and gave her a hug and a kiss on her forehead. She looked up at me. “Yes I know I’ve got it all under control.”

She frowned. “That’s what you said last time I went on a business trip.”

I tried to fight back a smile. The last time my mom went on a business trip I threw a big party. Rose called mom and she came home immediately. She was furious but the long trip back made her calm down. I got grounded. My punishment was that my cousin was to spend time with us. My mom hopes that she’ll rub off on me.

I love my punishment. My cousin, Rebecca, is a saint around parents but when no adult figure is around she is just like me. We are best friends but she always gets me in trouble. It’s not like she gets me in trouble on purpose I just take the fall for her when needed. I tend to forget how she acts around parents so I slip up sometimes.

My mom would usually pick up my cousin but she has another business trip in Tokyo, so I have to with my six year old sister.

“I know,” I murmured. “But it’ll be different this time … ‘cause Rebecca’s gonna be there.” I grumble.  I have to act like I’m not that fond of her in front of my mom because if I liked her the way my mom think she acts she would know something’s up.

She smirked. “Oh come on your cousin is delightful. She is a perfect young lady you should be more like her.”

I smirked inside my head. “That’s what you think.” I mumbled.

“What?” she asked as she stood up and flattened out her skirt.

“Nothing!” I smiled innocently. “Shouldn’t we get going?”

My mom looked at her watch. “oh! Ya we do let’s get to it!”

I groaned. “Please don’t say that again.” I pleaded.

She chuckled as we got in the car and drove off.
