Now that I was alone, I had to find an escape.
----------I mean, the people are nice, I guess, but I have business to settle with someone and it's urgent. I looked around the room. Maybe there's a secret hole or something. I started moving large things like the closet and the dresser, nothing. I tried to move the bed, but that'll take too long.
"Knock, knock."
"Are you done yet?" I hear King from outside.
Shit. I need more time.
"Wait a second." I yell through the door. I frantically looked around more and my eyes landed on a window. How did I not see this is the first place? I swear I'm not blind, but when I'm under pressure I over think everything. I go to the window and move the curtains. The sun is now rising so the sky is purple.
I unlocked the lock, opened the window and was about to leave, but then I remembered about Diamond. I couldn't leave her, she's my only piece of protection. I can't defend myself if I don't have her. I tried to find a space to hide, but the door opened. I was caught red handed...
...or so you thought. The door opened and King came in to realize that I was gone. I couldn't see his face expression from under the bed, but it would've been priceless.
"Oh no. Oh no. Oh no." He gasped as he rushed to the window. He looked down and took a deep breath. "I'm gonna kill her when I catch her." He said before jumping out of the window. I thought he jumped all the way down, but I heard footsteps on something like a fire escape.
I slithered my way from under the bed and creeped my head out of the window. King already was on the street and looked for me. "What's her name? I don't know her name." He said to himself frantically. He kicked the trash can and made it fall over. "Dammit."
There was a loud crash and he ran towards it. I slowly stood up to see if he was really gone and he was. I sighed in relief and ran to the living room. Hawk and Promise were physically fighting until they saw me. "Where are you going?" Hawk asked while disconnecting his fist from her face. I had to think, he put me on the spot.
"I'm going out." I responded quickly. They looked at each other like they knew I was lying and then back to me. "Where's King." Promise asked while getting off the floor. They both got up and crossed their arms in perfect unison, creepy. "He went to go look for something of mines. I guess he couldn't find it so I'm going downstairs to help." I explained nervously.
"Okay, then we'll help too." Hawk said while walking to the front door. I stopped him. "No!" I said. They looked at me confused. "Why not?" They said in unison. "Because it's something really personal and although I do like you guys, King knows me longer." That was the best excuse I ever made. I'm so proud of myself. Maybe I could become a professional liar.
"Okay." Promise agreed. Hawk looked at her confused. "What are you doing?" He asked in a stage whisper, but she didn't answer him. Instead, she walked to the spot where I ate this morning and grabbed my orange juice. "Here." She said while holding it out to me. I was confused. "Did you drink anything else this morning other than King?" She asked. I heard Hawk snicker in the background.
"No." I answered defensively. I reached for the glass, but she threw the juice on my pants. More likely on my groin so it could look like I peed myself. "Whoops." She said innocently. I couldn't go out like this. I can't be looking like this when I'm going to the tavern. I glared at her and walked back to King's room.
I heard them high-five each other as I closed the door. I looked on his bed and grabbed the clothes. I went to the side of the window where no one could see me and got undressed. After I got redressed, I went in front of a mirror and looked at myself. Of course he would have me to wear too short shorts and a big shirt so it looks like I'm not wearing pants.
Maybe instead of him killing me, I gonna kill him. I ran out of the room, ran down the hall, ran out of the kitchen, ran into the living room, and got my stuff. I noticed something right next to my bag when I picked it up, keys. Keys to what though? We don't have any vehicles, but maybe it goes to the door. Or...maybe it goes to the motorcycle. That might work.
I held the keys close to me and ran out of the door. After all of my efforts, I'm out. I'm free. The door leads to an elevator. Great. I press the lobby button and wait. We were on level ten. It would be nice if King did jump off though. Oh my God. How am I supposed to avoid him if he's outside? I should've thought better than that.
----------I reached the lobby. The elevator doors barely open, but I make my way out and start running. I reach the outside. Fresh air, its beautiful. I look at my surroundings and see the bike. I put the helmet on and insert the key inside. I turn it and it starts. My luck just gets better everyday.
I get on the bike and as I am about to leave, I see King blocking the way. Never mind about the luck. I freeze, he freeze, we are both ice. "Is that you?" He asks while pacing heavily towards me. I rev the engine. "Is. That. You?" He asks more demanding. I get off of the bike. Okay, I'm sorry if you wanted me to leave, but I would like to keep my life. Plus, I don't know what he's capable of.
He steps over the bike and backs me up into the wall. He sniffs my neck, weird I know, but he just does it. He unlocks my helmet and takes it off. The fear in my eyes couldn't explain how scared was. I was almost in the verge of tears. He hit the wall next to my head with the bottom of his balled up fist. "What the hell were you thinking?" He asked in a low monotone voice. I was too scared to answer.
"Why would you do that? I gave you food and a place to sleep, why would you want to leave? People who are starving and tired would want someone to rescue them and take them into their guild, but you just want to leave." He sounded hurt. Like I hurt him. Please.
"I have someone to meet, someone to kill, and someone to avenge. I have my own life and I didn't need your pity for you to help me." I pushed him away from me and walked away, but he stepped in front of me and I was pushed back to the wall. "Let go of me!" I yelled, but he ignored me. I couldn't leave if I tried.
Why does he care so much about me?
He's too demanding, he doesn't care, he uses me as a toy.
So why does he want to keep me in here?
