Chase~
My head suddenly goes numb and my heart stops. Something's happened to her.
I shift immediately, everyone around me confused by my shift. I sprint aimlessly searching for her scent in the direction she went.
I spot Lucy searching, still in human form. I shift back and she bows her head down to avoid looking at me.
"Where is she?"
"I don't know, honest. When she went to talk to you I was just searching around, I haven't seen her since then."
"Damn," I grunt before running off and shifting into my wolf again.
I catch her smell, stronger this time. I quicken my pace, following it until I reach a small clearing. She was here, this is where her scent is strongest. There was someone else here too.
Vampire.
My wolf only huffs and growls, rage fueled by the scent of the vampire. It's the same one that I smelled on her when she came to me before. What does it want?
I continue running through the forest, trying to pick up the smallest hint of her but there's nothing. She's gone.
Serenity~
I groan as I open my eyes, the bright lights making my head ache more than it already does. As my vision adjusts I look around the room, it sort of feels like a doctors office. I'm on a table and the room is pristine with a counter of medical looking equipment. All of it things I've never seen before.
The door looked normal, like they weren't trying to keep me in here. Wasn't I a prisoner? Shouldn't the door be more reinforced?
I got up slowly and trudged over to the door, my muscles sore. As I grabbed the handle it easily turned and I was suddenly looking out into an empty hallway. What's going on?
I cautiously search around, the place looks old but pretty well kept. There's strange paintings of these beautiful men and women sitting at tables or fighting battles, even just laughing together. It looks so real, almost as if they're really standing there.
Eventually I come across some stairs, still not having run into anyone. Why would these vampires just let me roam around?
When I get to the bottom of the stairs the area is much more open and I can see an entrance into a dining room. As I walk in the first thing I notice is the huge mirror that is the ceiling of the room. It's strange to both look up and down at myself. The room is brightened by the large windows along one side.
The dark oak table looks as if it should be in the dining hall of a palace, with little detailed animals carved into the side. Almost like the memory of the forest this tree must have lived in.
"Having fun?" I jolt up as the silence of the house is ruined. I turn and see Richard eyeing me from the other side of the room.
"Where are we?" I ask trying to get more of my bearings. I've basically been scouting out the house to figure out the layout.
"Somewhere private."
"Gee thanks," I roll my eyes. "Fine. What do you want? For someone who's probably your prisoner you're giving me a lot of freedom."
"Who said you were a prisoner?"
"Oh, great! So can I go?" I ask pointing away from him.
"Sure, anywhere in the house is free for you to explore. You can't get out though."
"And what's stopping me?" I eye him curiously, something's up.
"There's a binding spell that's been put on you to keep you from leaving the house no matter how hard you try." Of course there has. No wonder I've been able to walk around, there's no way for me to get through an exit.
"Okay so are you going to torture me? Maybe sacrifice me? Or punish me for something as revenge cause if so let's get it over with so I can go."
Richard suddenly moves across the room in a flash to me.
"Never in a million years, would I let that sort of harm come to you. I'm sorry I had to be forceful in order to get you here but you wouldn't have come otherwise." He's looking so intently at me trying to gage my reaction. His words seem sincere but I still don't understand.
"Why am I here then?"
"You're important. So much more important than you realize," he grasps my shoulders and brings himself down a bit to my height. "Soon you'll see why I need you here."
He looks around before bringing himself slightly closer to me.
"I'm so sorry I left you," he practically whispers. "I didn't want to but what I discovered was so incredible that I knew I'd come back to you in the end." He puts one hand against my face, a pleading expression on his face. "Please just trust me."
Against my better judgement, I nod. A look of relief washes over him. Seeing him like this, and the way he's acting right now is his old self. I want to believe him and see what he's talking about, so for the moment I'll give him a chance. Whatever keeps me alive. Whatever gets me back to Chase.
I'm sorry I suck, I know. I didn't open Wattpad for a long time and I've been going through some pretty big changes in life.
Anyway hope you all are doing well. I've wanted to update I just have been trying to find out where I'm taking the story.
I have another chapter almost done so look forward to it. :)
