When I was a young girl my father always told me that to believe in something is better than nothing, that if I wanted to get somewhere in life, that I should work for it. When I was twenty-seven, fresh out of college and into my first teaching job, something changed. I couldn't tell you what it was, but I could say that it was definitely something out of a fairy tale.
I don't know how to explain these beings to you, but let me tell you... I didn't believe in them at first either. When they appeared, or when they told me that I was one of them. Me! A small-town girl one of these ethereal beings? I thought it to be impossible. But, as it turns out, they were right.
These Ethereal beings told me they were the forces of life itself. Death, Life, Courage, Fear, Blessing, Disaster, Health, and Disease. Everything good and evil, were beings, living breathing people. I was surprised myself. Morana, the force of Death, came to me one day as I was heading to work. Introduced me to Neo (the force of Life), Asher (the force of Blessing), Edema (The force of Disease), Jian (The force of Health), Drea (The force of Courage), and Heth (the force of Fear). Together, they told me that I was to be the force of Disaster, but that's not how the story unfolded....
