TWO WEEKS LATER

Leaving the older friends behind wasn't a difficult job. In fact it had it had done me good. I had shopped for better clothes and all my worries had disappeared. However there is always something that keeps on bugging us. In my case it was the fact that I had not maintained any contact with Jeremy. without thinking I pulled out my cell phone and dialled his number. He picked up in a couple of rings.

"Hello?". Jeremy sounded surprised.

"Hi". There was a long pause and I started to continue.

"Jeremy...I just called to say that I am really sorry. I should have given you a proper reason for the break up."

"why Chloe? What went wrong?" He asked with no emotion in his voice.

I looked down at my feet. This was very difficult at the moment. I wasn't ready to talk to him yet.

"I wasn't happy, it wasn't working. I haven't called up to apologise for the breakup, I called cause I wanted to tell you myself that it's over."

"Okay."

I sighed. At least this burden was off my shoulders. Now he could happily date Amanda, I didn't care.

"Bye Jeremy."

"Bye."

I cut the call and looked at myself in the mirror. I was definitely better without Jeremy. With confidence radiating from me, I felt good.

                   〰〰〰〰〰〰

It was almost 4:00 p.m. I was very bored. I had not gone to school today, plus there was zero homework. I paced my room with nothing important on my mind. I needed to do something. I felt like a tiger in a cage. I wanted to be set free, making up my mind I pulled out my only yoga pants and decided to go for a run.

I entered the nearest park in my locality. It wasn't particularly large but wasn't crowded either. The earthy smell of my very existence hit me. It relaxed my nerves a bit. I loved parks that had such an atmosphere, it made me realise that there was so much more to life than just work and school. I decided to enjoy nature by not listening to music.

"Hey Chloe!". As soon as I heard my name being called out I surprised to see Sasha across me. I made my way to her.

"Hi! What are you doing here?". I asked with surprise evident in my voice.

"I am always here. You are the one that's unexpected." I rolled my eyes at that.

"Yeah...I know I have been out of touch but I had a lot on my plate."

"Come on Chloe no more excuses now. Okay? There's a party tomorrow, Stacy and I are throwing it,  I want you to be there. At 8."

I looked at her. She wasn't going to let me skip.

"I'll be there". I said as convincingly as I could.

"byee!". She said hugging me.

"bye.''

With that she walked away and I continued my run.
