As the firey rain descended apon the couple, something completely strange happened. A flash of purple light began to illuminate the along with the orange it seemed like something was getting closer. A wall of firey  orange rose to envelope the couple but just as it was about to hit them, something stopped it. A globe of purple light now enclosed the pair, along with someone who had not been there a second ago. He turned towards the two, who had been so sure of death moments before, had unconsciously wrapped in each other's arms. They hadn't let go, for fear that the Bubble might collapse. The stranger turned around. The first thing that struck Alex was his hat, the design was completely made of old Nintendo controllers. Next was his jacket, a regular zip, with the zipper down, revealing a marron tee-shirt. After that were his dusty old vans and jeans. He stood there with an idiotic smirk on his face as if waiting for a response from the shocked couple. The fire had completely eveloped the Bubble, but the platform had remained unaffected. "Well don't just stand there impressed, the stranger said, "clap!" Alex recognized him Immediately as Calib Lee, one of the students she had encountered during her time at Alamo. "Well said Calib, speaking again, if you won't clap, I guess we need to fix this." He gestured towards the outside of the Bubble. Silence. "No questions?" Alex shook her head. "No questions about how I got here, about this bubble, how did I get her nothing?" More silence. "Wow"he said, "let me explain exactly what is going on here, so sit down", he pointed to the floor. The couple looked at each other for a minute, then sat down. "Now then", Calib started again,"the shortest version of this I can tell you is that Japan fired a missile on little ol Hawaii to take out our base here, they did that because North Korea is holding their president hostage, any question so far?" The couple shook their heads."Smoke"? he asked. More head shaking. Calib then proceeded to produce a pack of cigarettes from his pocket, put it back, and then hold it to his mouth with no apparent lighter. He continued. "Now the nuke landed here and some people got the broadcast wrong and now there's going to be a war and yada yada yada, I suggest you stay here for when all that happens." The end of his cigarette ignited into a blue flame. Calib continued puffing as if this was all normal. For the first time Jacob spoke "how are we supposed to live here" he asked, looking over at Alex and the back at Calib. "I'm going to let you handle that one, he paused and puffed, blowing out smoke. Then the oddest thing happened, he snapped his fingers and the world did a 720°, when everything was right again, Alex was standing next to Jacob by the island in the kitchen, the clock on the counter read 7:30, and in the infamous words of crash bandicoot, she uttered a single word. "Woah"
