III- SAGE
LLYR
I rest against the cave wall as I watch the heavy rain cleanse the whole of Terra. Although this isn't the first time I left the Final Order, it still feels different now that I'm travelling alone to Seren. This is already the twelfth rain in this season but it still look like it has held a lot of water for a long time.
My lower back begins to feel a searing pain from riding the serpent for too long. Ryo gave me a hiss and dismissed into sleep in the darkness of the cave. He probably knew it wouldn't stop anytime soon. What a clever creature.
We left the Third Order two rays ago and have travelled ray and night. Although my beast is heavily armored with dark blue metal plates, Ryo remains the fastest and largest serpent to rove the icy Depths of Aqos.
"Go ahead. I won't be requiring your special senses at this point."
I tapped my arm device to scan the stretch of the terrain. After scanning, it projected onto the cave wall a two-layer map, positioning my location.
Seren. 150 periods. That's 5 to 6 days more from where we are.
Ryo's already in deep sleep. Not even once he cared when he knows he's done his duty for the current day.
My device blinked.
Orb: Red
Type: Flying
I ran outside the cave, fixing my visor to scan the dark clouds amidst the pouring rain.
There it is!
I have never seen anything like it.
The fire burns from its mighty wings down to the tail-end regardless of the heavy downpour.
A blood dragon!
The beast circles and soars above the wilderness, stretching its mighty wings in down glide form. It looks like it's going to land.
I hid myself behind some boulders and observed the giant wilding as it land in one of the nearest rocky mountain caves. I began assessing the beast at about a hundred feet away. By zooming in my visor, I found out that it hurt one of its wings. More so, it has a rider.
I saw a female native, in red and white leather and metal armor, dismounting the beast.
Fair skin. Red hair.
A high-born.
She started pulling her beast into one of the large caves for shelter.
I went back to my cave waited for about a half period. As the two day lights begin to set, I geared up.
A damage of that kind could make a dragon useless if not treated. I took some medical supplies and put it in the inside pockets of my metal coat. Using my visor's incognito mode, I camouflaged my way to the other riders' cave.
I peeked and saw the young beast and its beautiful rider, laid together in rest, near a small fire, as if they're the closest friends. They have removed most of their armor in order to dry up better.
I gazed at her exquisiteness while she rests. Her eyes look a little tired from lack of sleep. She must have been attacked by the mighties up in the air. There was no blood on her, which is a clear indication that her beast protected her well.
There is a small gold crest in a shape of a dragon at the center of her drow breastplate that sits next to her.
Could it be that she is of royal bloodline?
She appears to have a sword, but seeing no harm to come against me, I miche my way near the blood dragon to examine its wounds. The sound of the heavy rainfall outside makes them oblivious of the little noise I might be creating while I wander around the cave.
I saw minor burns in its web and broken wing bone and knew that it could get ripped in its future flight if not given proper medical attention.
I quietly looked around and saw that she doesn't have a supply pack. She must have somehow lost or dropped it.
Nobles are known to their pride and would not accept a stranger's generosity even when they need it. She must have a mission to come all the way down here.
I decided to leave the medical supplies she needs and gave her one last look as I leave the cave.
I promised myself that this should be the only time I will help a noble. I hope that her mission has nothing to do with impeding mine.
I returned to my cave and prepared to retire. Ryo opens his eyes and shot at steely stare at me.
"Medical supplies."
He hissed and then went back to rest.
My head grew heavy as I lay down to sleep.
My eyes suddenly opened from a deep sleep. I found Ryo still resting while the cave remains poorly lit.
It was just dream. But it felt very much real.
I looked outside and saw the two spherical lights, Denos and Oros, setting at the southern direction, while from the north rise the two evening lights; Gala and Tala which peek at the bluish horizon.
I tried to remember the face of the entity that appeared in my dream but I couldn't. All that I could remember was that she was illuminating.
She has wings.
