I woke up and stretched my wings. I looked around the pen I clucked good morning to everyone else and jumped out of my nest and onto the perch. I jumped down and went over to the water tub and had a drink, then I went to the food tub and had some breakfast. I turned around and saw the hot rooster, Flame. I went up to talk to him.
After that I went outside and pecked up the seeds that had been left the previous night. I walked around in the muddy pen for a bit, talking to my fellow chooks. Soon our owner came with the food scraps. I ran to the door and waited at her feet. She threw the scraps onto the ground. I raced towards them and managed to grab a piece of bread.
I ran around the pen with the bread for a bit with the other chooks chasing me. On of the chooks pecked off a bit from the bread that was in my beak. I soon finished the bread then ran back to the pile and started eating the carrot peels. When the scraps were finished I just walked around.
At about midday, I ran into the inside of the pen and into a nesting box. I sat there for a while then got up and left an egg there. I started singing my celebration song, bragging to the other chooks about the egg I just laid.
After that, I had lunch then took a nap on the perch. When I woke up I went back outside and chatted with they sparrows. They started teasing me because I was fat and couldn't fly, they also teased me because I had an owner. I got sad but then Flame came and scared them off.
For the rest of the dayI just scratched in the dirt and chatted with the other chooks. When it got dark I snuggled up on the perch with my sisters and we all had a good nights sleep.
