A house was decorated like a new bride with sparkling lights wrapped around it like precious ornaments on a bride, shinning and twinkling in the night like fireflies.
The flowers creating a soothing and beautiful scene, distinct tunes and beats were being played around creating a joyful atmosphere and let's not forget the mouth-watering aroma of the food which was making many people salivate.
People present there were chatting around happily, the ladies were gossiping about the beauty of the bride, richness of the groom. And how much money was spent on the whole event, some were looking at the bride and groom sitting in front of the holy fire.
The priest chanting the holy mantras, unaware of the storm that was going to hit soon. As the priest asked the bride and groom to stand up for taking the seven holy wedding vows while taking seven rounds around the holy fire.
The groom and bride stood up but the rounds were never taken, the groom had thrown away the cloth tying them together in a fit of sudden rage, the cloth lied on the floor in two separate pieces symbolizing their broken and thrown away relation.
The crowd was shocked waiting in anticipation for a high voltage drama to unfold in front of them as they watched a girl's life being perfectly destroyed, the groom shouted and screamed profanities as the girl stood there numb.
she couldn't hear a single word he was screaming, it was all black around her there was darkness and it was consuming her whole but there was a distinct source of light too far away for her to reach.
A guy with hazel eyes and heart whelming smile forwarded his hands as soon as she held his hand he pulled her towards him, his lips crashed on her in a gentle and sweet kiss and suddenly she was surrounded by light, warm and gentle light.
The light was illuminating every single molecule of her being driving the darkness away but the darkness was stubborn too. It didn't want to leave her either and she found herself standing in front of her groom again who was shouting accusation after accusation at her, calling her names along with his family who were shouting that they have been deceived.
All this was just making her lose herself again in the darkness which was consuming her whole. she could hear his harsh words echoing around her, the world's like illegitimate child, slut, deceiver, good for nothing, a black mark in the name of her family, a mistake, all this was on repeat mode striving to make her believe everything being said about her was true.
she was what she was spoken to be, she tried to fight the darkness and scream out loud they were wrong, they don't know her, no one does, she wasn't good for nothing, she was something but the darkness had tightened its hold around her but all her efforts were in vain. She was alone with only darkness as her companion, all went blank for her with that wonderful thought.
Akanksha woke up gasping for air, her heart frantic, a funny feeling of dread in her stomach as she looked around searching for a pair of familiar hazel eyes, her source of light but found herself in her own room, on her own bed with darkness all around her.
she searched for her phone frantically and relaxed in whatever faint illumination the screen was providing her. she checked the time and found it to be 1 am in the morning and instinctively she knew going back to sleep was impossible now. so she tried to concentrate her energies in something else, anything that will not remind her of those dreadful moments, the incidents that have made her like this.
she got out of the bed and took a book from her huge bookshelf.
she had taken books are your best friend quote to her heart as when everybody turned their back to her she found her solace in books. She loved the smell of new books, they helped her in escaping reality.
