THE CHOSEN ONE

CROSSROADS

I'm hope, I'm 23 years old, I lost my parents in a car crash last year , and my boyfriend cheated on me.

Fed up of the loneliness and the heartbreak, I am now ending my life.

My tub filled halfway , the razor blade in my right hand.
Raising my left hand, I rest the blade on my most noticeable vein.

"I'm done with life," I whispered. I then slit my wrist, letting my hand fall into the water,  blood seeped out of my now slit vein, turning the water dark red . I whimpered in pain as the burning sensation increased on my wrist, feeling slightly dizzy , I laid back as my eyes drifted, my heart rate decreasing, the pain subsides as I now lied unconscious. Dead.

Entering a dark, lonely area, darkness everywhere, I must be dreaming. Suddenly, clips of my life popped out of no where, I can hear the fights, the screams. Everything.

Frustrated, I held my head with both my hands, as I let out a thrilling scream.

Silence.

Looking ahead, I saw a bright light. I made my way towards it. Walking further , I see an angel and what looked like a golden gate, behind him. To his right a guy in a black suit and what looked like the gate of hell, flames growing , feeling the warmth as I make my way closer.

"That was not necessary," the angel scolded.

"Oh what's a little dark humor gonna do you huh?" He laughed.

My eyes widened in realisation, "I'm dead?" This brought their attention towards me , one smirking as the other gave me a sympathetic nod.

"Yes," the angel said. I'm Confused now.

"You killed yourself," the guy said bluntly.

"I'm Gabriel, your guardian angel," he introduced, extending his hand, I took it. "And this is--"

"Lucifer, I don't do handshakes so don't expect anything." He interrupted.

" I wasn't expecting any," I scoffed.

"Surely, we mustn't waste any time now Hope, we have big plans for you." Gabriel smiled.

"But I have bigger ones for you, my dear." I paused, Lucifer continued.

"You will have everything you ever wanted, and together we shall rule the world. Just take my hand, Hope." He  extended his hand.

I turned to my guardian angel.

"Child, you are gifted and we want to teach you how to use it."

"It's your choice now, choose wisely." Gabriel added.

They stood silently as they awaited my answer, "I choose.."

I looked at Lucifer and thought about what he said, if I had everything, I can maybe take my revenge on Joshua.

I then looked at Gabriel, he's probably lying, but then again the devil is a chronic liar but I won't get my revenge on my heart breaker.

"I choose you," I pointed my finger.

"You will regret it Hope," Lucifer warned. With that he left, the gates of hell disappearing with him.

"Well done Hope, come, let us meet our lord and discuss your gift." He led me towards the gate.
