Chapter Seventeen: The End Of Y/n L/n

I had been staring at the letter for several minutes. There is no way in hell I'd go to the Trancy manor! I got a paper and began writing.

Dear earl Trancy,
I'm afraid I can not accept your offer,
However it is possible I might be available
At a later date. I am currently in the process
Of taking over as head of my family and I am

I read the note over and nodded. I put it in a envelope and handed it to my new maid who was probably taking it to the post office. (Did they have those back then?? Idk..) I sighed and sat back in my chair.

Alois had found out about me, I planned to have nothing to do with him. I wish we could be friends like we used to, but if he killed for me in the past, he would kill for me again if he met me now.

I walked to my room with a few letters I opened the first one, Lizzy invited me to a ball, and to stay the night. I smiled and began packing to go.

Timeskip

Alois' POV
I read over the letter she sent back. Her handwriting is familiar, but I brush it off. Claude set something on my desk, a newspaper.

I looked at it. The headline almost made my heart stop. They've stopped searching for Y/n. They think she's dead it says they found a girl with S/c skin and H/c hair dead a few days ago. They said she killed herself.

I immediately set the paper down and stormed off to my room. I just need to be alone.

I'm surprised nobody's asked about these yet.
