All was quiet in the quaint seasonal household. The scent of toasting bagels wafted throughout their home. Suddenly, an echoing bang was heard, as though someone had fallen from their bed and was now frantically racing down the stairs. The frantic young lady responsible for the commotion was Summer. A youthful adolescent with gorgeous brown highlighted hair that fell down to her mid back. Her brown eyes reflecting the panic shown in her actions.
Sprinting down the stairs three at a time, Summer arrived to see a shorter woman with heart-stoppingly beautiful emerald eyes that usually emitted a sense of understanding, cooking inside of the homes rather large kitchen. Instead of being down, like her long pitch colored hair normally was, she had it tied into a beautiful braid that had many small flowers in it. Quickly turning towards the sound of the commotion, the young lady's happy look melted away and was quickly replaced with one of barely contained rage. More noticeably a large red tick mark appeared on her forehead.
"...A-ah, hey th-there Spring..." Summer managed to quickly stammer out. She had quickly adopted a forced 'casual' look. One line of thought was bouncing around at the speed of light in her head, "Just be cool... Just act natural... Just be cool..."
"Well, well, well, look at what the cat dragged in. Finally decided to come down and help like you promised? Right Summer?" Spring said in a sickly sweet manner that made Summer quiver in fear.
Looking everywhere but at Spring, Summer tried to change the topic, "Is that Salmon Lox and bagels I smell?" Sniffing she quickly added, "And fresh strawberries?" Sweat was at this point streaming down her face.
"Why yes it is! Would you like some?" A motherly smile returning to her face, as she excitedly turned towards the plates of delicious food.
"Phew, I'm off the hook," Summer internally commented to herself. Visibly relaxing and calming down Summer replied, "Yes please! You know I love Salmon Lox on bagels!"
Moving towards the table Summer glanced around the dining room. Adorning the walls were various pictures, mementos, and for some reason holes in the otherwise blemishless beige walls. Taking a seat at the relatively large table the majestic scent of fresh Salmon Lox and bagels wafted through the air once more and made drool almost spill from Summers lips.
With supreme elegance Spring placed an ornate plate filled with the savory Salmon Lox spread on top of crisp bagels. However, just as Summer was about to dig in, the bagel was snatched away and eaten by Spring. Summer reached for another one, only for that one to be snatched with lightning quick hands. Holding the bagel above Summer's head, Spring's face donned a slight smirk.
"Okay, what's the deal Spring?" Summer asked with a growing tick mark.
"Oh-hoho!" with that Springs jovial face dropped into a deadpan expression. "Did you honestly think that I had forgotten so quickly? Did you honestly think I wouldn't remember the broken promise?"
"A-ah yeah...?" More question than a response was all that was heard from a shrugging Summer.
"A-ah yeah? A-AH YEAH?! That's your response... honestly what did I expect from such a fireball like you." The last part was said quietly and with a big sigh.
"If you want your Salmon Lox, or your strawberries you going to have to wait for everyone else to finish eating their food and wash the dishes!" Crossing her arms over her petite chest she looked away in resoluteness.
"A-ah-wah. Wah?! Nuuu! Please Spring don't do this, I need that fishy goodness!" At this point Summer was on her knees grabbing onto Springs apron and at the point of crying, begging for her 'fishy goodness.'
Her begging was only greeted by Spring's uncaring laughter. As this continued, a loud yawn alerted the duo that someone else coming down the stairs.
