"It is the right term for what you call Elder Species." He explained.
Dire Wolves, huh? A cool name, better than 'Elder Species'.
"So, as I was saying the first of the dragons were born from the blood of Oauranos." Runeria continued. "Aurora and Xemetus. Though they sprung up from the same blood, their love was legendary. But, during the Giant war, Aurora lost her life. Xemetus in his grief, took away her dying body and brought her here, in the endless ocean. In her dying breath, she told Xemetus that she was pregnant and had six eggs in her womb. " Runeria signed as she stroked the picture of her childhood.
"She died after that, her body turned into vapours of ashes and in a few days those vapours turned into solid rocks that floated in the sky. On one of those solid rocks was an egg. Xemetus, upon seeing the egg, inscribed a prophecy upon that rock. " She doubled clicked the picture and it changed into that of a maroon cushion in the middle of a circle of old writings."He waited for the egg to crack and a thunder dragon was born. He named him Theodorius the Thunder. That was our first king. Xemetus waited for Theodorius to grow old enough until he too felt the need to join Aurora in her great slumber. When Theodorius reached the age of consent, that is thirteen, for us, Xemetus curled up in the ocean below the islands of Aurora and died." She paused again, putting a hand to her chest as if paying respect, Terahar copied the gesture, and I, not knowing what to do, just bowed my head.
"After his father's death, Theodorius received great gifts. He build a barrier around the Islands of Aurora and Xemetus and created a safe place for his people. "
"Wasn't he the only one?" Runeria nodded her head. "He was. But I did mention that he had great power, didn't I?" She grinned. "He struck the edge of the island of Xemetus, which is actually the curled up body of Xemetus, with a blast of thunder, the edge of the island turned into four different parts and those four parts developed into full grown dragons, who, together build Aurora into this glorious place. "
"Nice." I grinned. Her storytelling reminding me of Nikolai.
"It's not a story, mind you. It's our history. " Terahar said, sending me a sharp glance. I huffed.
"Don't ruin the magic. " Runeria said, flicking her hand in a 'Shoo-Shoo' motion.
He rolled his eyes. And turned away and walked towards the windows.
"Now." Runeria said, bringing my attention back to her. " Theodorius of the Thunder married Reneia of the Rainbows and lived a long life, eventually he passed down his throne to his son and his son passed down the throne to his son and the line continued until the fifth century." She double clicked the screen and the image flickered until and egg was seated on the red cushion.
"Until the Second Theodorius of the Thunder hatched. He was immediately declared heir and made the king upon his coming of age. The then heir was made the royal councillor and everyone lived happily ever after." She paused, expecting me to say something but when I did not say anything she continued.
"And so our race lived. Centuries and Centuries. We lived in harmony, we didn't have petty wars like you do. We cherished life and lived it to its fullest. Whenever the time was right a Theodorius of the Thunder would hatch. " She clicked the image back to the former King and Queen.
"The Fifth Theodorius the Thunder had been ruling us for the past fifty years. Rave....their child was going to be his heir. But then the Sixth Theodorius was hatched." The image went back to the three children. It zoomed into the boy in the middle.
"It had never occurred before. A Theodorius has always been born with at least with a Century's gap in between. But this one was born after exactly sixty three years after his brother. It was taken as a bad omen. It was taken as a sign that the King was not adequate for the throne. Then the Sixth Theodorius started growing and showing signs of a fire elements dragon. Another event that had never occurred before. Theodorius has always been a thunder dragon. Never another element. It was another bad omen. Fire dragons are the most rarest element dragons. They were the ones that usually pillaged and warred with the human. It was what got them killed in the first place. Thunder dragon's were also uncommon but not rare. They were treated like princes even if born out of the royal family, given the highest posts.
