The minute I got to my hotel room I laid everything on my bed. Exhausted. I didn't care for anything besides a nice warm shower and to be greeted by the hotel bed. Until I remembered what I had discovered earlier today. The notebook.

I walked over to my backpack and searched until I had found what I wanted. It felt so foreign in my hands. It wasn't mine, yet I would do anything to read what's inside. Or at least get the name of the owner. 'Your curious' my subconscious told me. But it didn't feel that way. It felt more of me just intruding on whomever this belonged to. I was intruding, but like my subconscious said, I'm curious right?

I loosened the leather straps and the book opened by itself. Pages were filled with writing. This was no notebook; this is someone's journal. I couldn't intrude on someone's private thoughts. They are private for a reason. But something inside me wanted to read what was inside more than anything. The urge to read the writing was so strong and I don't know how long I could stop from reading the words written in front of me. I closed the journal fast as if it was a race and I had to win. My thoughts were all jumbled up into one thing; the journal. Without realization i had the journal in my hands once again. I set it down lightly and walked away before I couldn't stop myself to read it.

The water was warm as it hit my face. A shower should get my mind off of the journal that I had discovered only hours ago. But i couldn't of been more wrong. A shower is where most people go to think and I was trying to get away from my thoughts. I needed to get away from my thoughts and I needed to get away from them now or else I would be intruding into someone's private thoughts. 'What if they left it there on purpose? What if they want someone to read it?' My mind said to itself; trying to convince me into opening it and reading the writing printed between the lines. "NO!" I half yelled. I needed something to distract me and I needed it now.
