Chapter 16: Conversations and Surprises

Cat and Finn had gone to a fast food restaurant for their date, the two had Wednesday's house show and then they could go home. Cat was eating fries when she thought and she froze, "So, we are going home Wednesday. Stephanie and Shane agreed on it. Until I can find a good bus, we don't work Thursday, Friday, or Saturday.", Finn nodded, "Okay. Have you told your father or Davina that we're okay?", she snorted, "I'm sure he already knows. Seth, Hunter, Renee, and Randy are like his little spies.", Finn laughed and she smiled, "Besides, I want you to be a surprise. Davina loves you, Fergel Devitt. She loves you like a father. I just want you to know that.", her phone chimed and she smirked, speak of the devil. She answered the phone call, "Hello, little one. I miss you.", Davina began telling Catherine all about her day, "Grandpa is letting you ride the horses? That's amazing. Did you best him in a race?", Davina said something and Catherine laughed before she asked about Finn, "Oh, did you see him win last night?", Davina got excited and then asked when Finn was coming back, "Well I'm not sure, but guess what. You're Uncle Shane has decided that until I can find a good bus, that I don't have to work as much and I can be home sooner. So with that being said, I will be home early in the morning on Thursday.", Davina cheered and told Shawn and she looked at the clock, it was after 11, "Shouldn't you be in bed?", Davina giggled and ran off after handing the phone to Shawn, "I have a massive favor to ask you, dad. In two weeks, I'm going to Australia and Vina's passport won't be here in time for her to come with. I'm going to need her to stay with you, I don't care if it's at my house or yours of if you guys goes someplace across the country, but-", Shawn cut her off and said he'd do it asking when her passport would be in, "The Wednesday after I leave. I leave on a Saturday at 2 am for New Zealand and I'm there for three days and then I'm going to Australia and I'm there for 4 days and then I'll be home.", Shawn agreed, "Dad, thank you so much. You have no idea the amount of relief this gives me. Thank you.", Shawn laughed and she smiled, "I love you Dad.", he said it back, "I'll see ya soon.", and hung up. Finn looked at her, "I thought the Smackdown workers were going to New Zealand the full week.", she shrugged, "Well, I'm working some Smackdown and Raw house shows, so they want me wrestling Monday and Tuesday for Smackdown. Wednesday is a little tourist day, I'm going to the set of The Lord of the Rings. Then Wednesday evening at like 6, I have a plane to Australia. Thursday is a recoup day and I work Friday at the house show, Saturday is a tourist day, and then Sunday we come back to America.", Finn nodded and she smiled, "So, buses, are you wanting to join us?", Finn looked at her, "Cat, you know I want to.", she raised an eyebrow, "And I already know what you're going to say. The bus stays with the live show worker, who gets done sooner, live shows are 30 to 45 minutes away from house shows. House shows get done at 9. Smackdown ends at 9, but with 205 Live, the Mae Young Classic, and the dark match, we don't leave until 11. Therefore, the bus would be there and you could come in and hang if I'm part of the dark match or if I'm working on commentary on the Classic, if I'm not we can leave and get to the next show.", Finn raised an eyebrow, "They want you on commentary for the classic?", she nodded, "Sometimes, I'm a veteran. They want Nattie or I on Commentary ever once in a while.", Finn nodded, "How's it going? The Classic?", she smiled and her eyes light up as she talked about the talent she's seen, "I think we should sign all of them and split them even. Three ways. NXT, Raw, and SmackDown. I want SmackDown to get Taynara Conti, she's lovely and talented. Plus she looks like Nattie and Renee had a love child.", Finn chuckled and they stood, dumping their food to get back on the road. She was surprised that very few people had asked for autographs, but she was relaxed. Finn said something and she laughed really hard, her smile showing and her eyes sparkling. That's when Finn knew she was actually okay, because her eyes met her smiles and laughs. He wanted to kiss her right there, but he knew paparazzi was outside.

She put her hat back on before the pair walked outside. Much like Finn's comfy outfit, she had worn sneakers, leggings, and an oversized sweater with a simple black ball cap. Her hair was in a slightly curled ponytail and her makeup was natural, being that she had been staying with a natural feel on screen and off, she didn't differ  much from her morning makeup. They got to the car and heard the flashes and questions, "Cat, how are you?", she turned and smiled, "I'm perfectly well, and you?", the camera people all smiled, Cat was back. She smiled as well, "Drive home safely, and God bless.", she shut her door and Finn looked at her with a smile, she turned as she buckled her seat belt, she glanced up as it clicked into place, "What?", and he did what he had been wanting to do, he kissed her. She squeaked in surprise but closed her eyes and kissed him back. His forehead rested against hers and he pecked her lips with his a few more times before he leant back and buckled himself in, started the car and driving away. He knew her eyes were running over him and she was shocked but she was smiling. She kissed his cheek before she sat back and putting pulled her right leg into the seat, getting on her phone and the conversation started again.
