"Help me!" The waves of the ocean were dragging her under the water, pushing her down. Her front and back paws were kicking and scrambling, trying all she could to stay above the water. "Help me please! Sombod-" The violent waves crashed down on her before she could finish her cries for help. She tried again to get up, but before she could reach the air another wave crashed down in the water, pushing her down further into the deep and knocking the wind out of her. She let go of her breath and all her muscles. She stared blantly at the surface of the water, which felt like a hundred feet up. She was then blinded by bubbles, then darkness. It was all dark. Nothing was there. The only thing she heard was ringing in her ear and her heart beating, thump thump.
A-am I...dead? She thought to herself. Though it felt like she had no control over her thoughts. No...please no! Somebody please help me! PLEASE!
"AHH!" She shot her head up from her nest she was lying in, panting and panting. Her heart was thumping so hard that it hurt.
"What's wrong?!" A white female bobcat, with unusually dark gray spots, ran into the den she was in. Her face was heavily concerned.
The bobcat looked up at her. Her pupils as small as a star in the mid night sky. She tried to speak up but her fear was choking her.
"I...I had a nightmare...Th-that I was..drowning..and...I just..nothing..and I died and no one was there!" She continued panting after she was done forcing her words out.
"Sigh.. Well its fine now Trench. It was just a nightmare."
"I know, Melon.." Trench replied. "Its still haunting though.."
"Yeah. Well maybe you should clean yourself up. Ericvas would be mad if your late to the practice for the coronation tonight." She said while inching her way out of the den.
"Wait.. That's tonight?! Oh no, I completely forgot!"
"Yeah, you've been forgetting a lot of things lately. You haven't been acting like yourself. Every time we turn around, your running off or just staring into space. Is something wrong?"
Trench was staring through the entrance while she was talking, then snapped back to reality. "...huh? Oh.. Uh, I don't know. I don't think anything's wrong with me."
   "Trench!"
Trench flenched when she shouted her name.
"You're doing it again! You don't listen. You only think!" She then rushed out of the den.
Trench got up and started to follow her. "Well I think it's more of 'dreaming' and contemplating, thank you very much." She said with sass.
"Don't you realized you just used the word 'think' in your defense for me saying you think too much?" She said teasingly.
"Pfft! Whatever, melon head." They both looked at each other and smiled.
"Come on." Trench continued. "We best not make dad mad for being late. We don't want two grandmas."
