This sucks, forgive me.  I might have another co-author helping me out soon though so that might help. -Ghost

Kylie's POV

The next morning, I woke up and did my usual morning routine. Then, I realized my parents were glaring at me and Shaun was nowhere to be found.

"Hey mom, dad, where's Shaun?" I questioned as nicely as possible.

"Hopefully he's rotting by now in the basement. I hope the lil s*** is dead." Was my mother's hateful response.

"Wait, what?!"

"Now, get your ugly a** out the door and get to school. Say a word about this and you'll be joining your waste of a brother." I was in complete shock, they shoved me out the door before I could fully register what happened. Shaun was dead? Why were they like this all of a sudden to me? Is this what Shaun felt like 24/7? I don't understand, what was going on? I stumbled onto the bus and sat in my seat. Today, Dylan was there.

"Hey Kylie! How's it going? Why do ya look so down? Where's Shaun? Oh, didja know there's a new kid? He's got bright red hair! An-"

"Okay, calm down. Slow down. Let me answer your questions, kay?"-my voice broke-"It's not going good. I look down because...because...anyways, the reason SHaun's not here is...my parents think he's dead...they-" I was in tears by now, "they beat him to death..."

"Whaaa? Oh my god, are you okay? We need to call the police, or tell someone dear lo-"

"No! We won't tell anyone okay?" I said, cutting him off once again.

"Wha? Why? Oh, then your parents will kill you too, won't they?" He looked down. This was the first time I'd seen him without his signature ear-to-ear smile. I just nodded in response. By that time, we got to school. At the same time, we both started faking our happiness, and just like that went back to working on the project. This time, Lilly picked up on something, although she didn't mention it.

Shaun's POV

...I...I'm not dead? H-how? Oh my god everything hurts...So...So much blood...I have to get out of here....now, while my parents are out... I noticed the door was left open just a bit, and tried to get to it. Anything, I just have to get out of here.

Kylie's POV

At school, it seemed like a normal day despite Shaun's absence. I don't know how to deal with this. Shaun, my brother, was dead? Because of my parents, who always seemed to loving? I could be next? Wait, let's think positively. Maybe, Shaun wasn't dead, just unconscious. I could run away to live with a nice family with him! Wouldn't that be nice? Oh who am I kidding. What are the chances of any of that happening.

Shaun's POV

I had crawled out of the basement and found my first aid kit, bandaging and stitching together my wounds. Everything still hurt like hell, and the sewing job was horrendous, making my arms and legs look like mangled pieces of flesh barely hanging together. I stumbled out of the death house. I may not be able to save Kylie from them but they like her so maybe she'll be fine. I still have to get an education though, so I have to stay near my school. I'm in a uniform and they have rooms for the foreign exchange students. I can probably stay there. I just can't let them find out what happened to me, who knows what crap will happen if they do. I stumbled into the school, looking as presentable as possible with blood-stained socks and hair. At least I had enough sense to change into a clean uniform, save the socks. The office lady wrote me a pass to my class, and I found my group. When I walked in, Kylie's head shot up, a look of utter disbelief in her eyes. Dylan gasped, while everyone else looked confused on why they were reacting in that way. Kylie jumped out of her seat and tackled me with a hug, crying into my shirt, mumbling things like 'they said you were dead' and 'they're going to try to kill me next' over and over.
