I awake to the sound of yelling. "Up and at 'em, Cadets! Up and at 'em!"

I sit up groaning and see that most of the other girls are doing the same. Moving hurts so much. It took all of my energy just to sit up.

"Be in the cafeteria in half an hour!" The voice calls again.

I slowly swing my legs over the side of the bed and sit there for a moment. I see that pretty much everyone else feels the exact same way. There are only seven of us girls, meaning there are fourteen boys.

Groaning with effort I get up fully from the bed and stretch my back slightly. I slowly walk to my locker and grab my bag of toiletries and training gear that they provided for us. Our training gear was just a white tank top, a pair of green cargo pants and black combat boots.

I walk towards the bathroom in a half dazed state and quickly get into the farthest showering stall.

I turn the knob all the way to the left so I can take a steaming hot shower.

I sigh in content as the hot water falls over my sore muscles. I wish I could stay in here forever. But there's this thing called life, and apparently I have to live it.

Quickly washing off myself, I jump out of the shower and hurriedly dress myself. It's a bit weird being exposed to so many other people like this. At least they're all girls, though.

I look myself over in the mirror above the sink. I guess I don't look horrific. The bags under my eyes aren't as noticeable as yesterday, but I still look pale as hell.

I tir my hair up into a high messy bun and leave the bathroom. Most of the other girls are ready and waiting for their friends. My only friend is in the other dorm. I seriously need a girl friend.

I sit on my bed and lace up my combat boots. My muscles have become less sore from the hot shower, which is good.

"I bet Artemis won't last a day." Someone screeches not so suttely. I roll my eyes and ignore the chorus of snickers that follow.

The sound of footsteps walk towards me. "Oops." None other than Sabrina sneers at me. "You weren't supposed to here that."

Without looking up at her I reply, "You understand that we're in training to become soldiers, right?" Finishing my shoe laces I look up at her. "Cold-blooded, emotionless soldiers. There's no time for your unnecessary drama. You should be making friends, not enemies, Westwood." I spit at her and poke her in the chest hard. "Because when we're on the field, and you need someone to save your sorry ass. It sure as hell ain't gonna be me."

I leave the room with a bang, like usual. Again, learn to keep your mouth shut, Artemis. I mentally slap myself. Way to start the first morning, eh?

"This is pure shit." Ace grumbles, poking his breakfast with his fork.

Yesterday, we picked our weekly jobs. Ace and I chose to do laundry duty. But whoever chose to be the cook, should never choose that again. They served us with watered down eggs and burnt toast. The most disgusting food I've ever tasted.

"You're, right." I scowl at my eggs. "But I need food, so I'm eating it." I try not to gag on the rock hard toast.

"I'd rather starve; have fun dying of solmenella." He pushes is plate away.
