2 1/2 Years Later

---

"Kevin!" I called from the living room, grabbing an oven mitt and pulling a smoldering pan out of the oven. I heard him get up from the couch and walk over, yawning. I glanced at him and rolled my eyes, sticking the thermometer in the side of the oven baked turkey.

"Go put some clothes on, man," I chided, reading the temperature on the thermometer. "Your family's gonna be here any second for Thanksgiving Dinner."

His eyes widened. "Oh shit, really?!" He scrambled away from the kitchen and into our room, where I heard clothes being thrown around frantically. I chuckled softly and grabbed the knife to start cutting the perfectly baked food.

Over the last two years, things had definitely gotten better. Rampage was taken to the hospital, and then put in jail for life. I went to visit him a lot, bringing board games or some of Kevin's stories to read every time I went. We actually got along very well, for someone who was criminally insane.

I tracked down Kevin's sister, Becca, and apologized almost directly after we beat Rampage. Even although that kid could really hold a grudge, she eventually ended up forgiving my actions and becoming like a little sister to me.

The city of L.A commended us for defeating Rampage, and we decided to start fresh, this time as a superhero duo. Captain Kind and Calamity, working together at last. Over the past couple of years we banged over 45 dangerous criminals and counting.

As for me and Kevin? It took a while, but we finally ended up taking into consideration the obvious feelings we had, and we got together. I didn't lie when I said he was the best thing to ever happen to me. We're 2 years and going strong, fighting over who gets to take down the bad guy and who has to pay for dinner. Because honestly, what's a relationship without a little conflict?

"Hey, does this look okay?" He asked anxiously, spreading his arms out so I could get a closer look. I took the oven mitt off and beamed at him, straightening his tie.

"You're so ugly." I teased, and kissed him on the cheek. "Wipe that dust off your collar."

Suddenly, the doorbell rang with a shrill beep, and I grabbed Kevin's sleeve, pulling him over to the door. I tugged on the handle, opening it with a smile.

"Hi everyone! Welcome!"
