Chapter Nine
*Arianna PoV*
Training was difficult.
Really difficult.
"No! Do it again!" Elizabeth shouted for the billionth time. I was starting to get frustrated now, and I had to keep calm for my powers to work. I took a deep breath. They were trying to teach me how to shock someone, it was apparently very useful. I just wanted to learn how to get my eyes back to normal, and how to teleport.
"Elizabeth, calm down. She's new at this." Isobel argued. Elizabeth just rolled her eyes and stood still, waiting for my next attempt. I stood up tall and took a deep breath. I raised my arm, opening my palm. Focus, I told myself. I let the power, everything I had in me, flow to my palm. Then it shot forward, a blue beam of light, and it hit Elizabeth right in the chest, causing her to fall back and go still.
"Elizabeth?" Andrew asked quietly, "Jesus. That was strong." He continued. Isobel walked over to Elizabeth and kneeled down by her side. A minute or so later, Elizabeth was back on her feet, groaning and swearing at me.
"First you're plain awful at this, next second you're brilliant! How? Ugh." He walked off and let Andrew walk over.
"Okay. So that's fine, I suppose. Can you fight? Like, fist fight?" He asked. I smirked, spend half your life on the streets and you'll learn how to fight.
"Yeah, I can." I answered. He nodded and walked off, returning ten seconds later with Seth, of all people.
"If you can fight, fight him. Seth is in the army. If anyone can fight, he can." Seth waved and smiled, but then his look darkened. He was confident. Seth walked over to me and stood right in front of me, smirking.
"Well, little lady. Let's do this." He said. The second he finished speaking I punched his right jaw, causing him to fall back and kicked him in the chest.
"Don't sound so confident, big boy. Then people will presume you're good." He was back on his feet quicker than I had anticipated. He punched my stomach and dropped low, kicking my jaw. I fell back, but managed to stay standing. I kicked his groin and punched his stomach before pushing him over, making him fall to the ground. I kicked his stomach twice more, just to prove to keep him down. I looked up to see the others looking back at me, amazed. I felt something tug at me ankle, and suddenly I was on the ground and Seth was straddling me, with his hand on my throat.
I was beginning to find it hard to breathe, so I used my last resort. Nails. I brought my hands to the back of his neck and dig my nails into the skin, dragging them down. He cried out and let go of my throat, giving me an opportunity to switch the situation. I flipped us over so he was under me and began punching both sides of his face.
"Okay! Okay, enough!" Andrew shouted. I stood up panting and offered a hand to Seth, to help him up. He took at and soon we were standing, being glared at by Andrew.
"You! You stared to choke her!" He said, shouting and Seth, "and you!" He turned to me, "I'm surprised his jaw is still in tact! You were both unprepared and neither of you are dressed to fight. Go over to Isobel and Elizabeth. They'll fix you up. Now!" He shouted. Seth and I exchanged glances before doing as we were told. Isobel took care of Seth, leaving me with Elizabeth.
"That was really impressive. I'm sorry about getting angry earlier." She said, raising my jumper to heal a bruise that was beginning to form.
"Thanks. And, it's fine." I replied, not knowing what else to say. She put her hands on my jaws, healing them as well and after five minutes, we were both at good as new.
