Chapter 9

Alex’s POV

Chapter 9

I woke up to the sound of a beeping machine. I saw my grandmother sitting on the hospital bed, lifeless. I hate the hospital, everything horrible happens to me here.

“Oh good you’re up.” said Dr.Nalfise

“Is she going to be alright?” Aria asked, I didn’t know she was still here

“I’m afraid that Mrs. Lopez has suffered with a Grade 8 heart attack. She was also dealing with a brain tumor. I’m not sure how healthy she is. It’s a miracle that she was this fine for 10 years.”

“Wait, my grandmother’s been dealing with a tumor for 10 years?”

He nodded

“She didn’t tell you?”

“No.” I said half heartedly

Soon afterwards Vinny came in, his face filled with distraught. I don’t think I can deal with another a death. Why does everything bad have to happen to me? She’s the only family I have! I couldn’t deal with it anymore I had to go away, somewhere where everything was back to normal.

I got to my car and started the engine; I didn’t know where I was going I just had to leave. I drove to my apartment; I unlocked the door and sat down on my bed. I didn’t even get to put everything into my room. I just don’t feel like myself. I got back into the car and darted off. I called Harry.

“Um, Harry, I need you.” I started crying

“Babe, why are you crying? What’s wrong?” I could tell he was really worried

“Nana. She’s not good, she’s in the hospital,” I couldn’t stop crying, “Harry, I don’t know what to do.’

“Alright Alex, head over to my flat.”

“Okay.”

I hung up, I don’t know why Harry wanted to go to his apartment, he was still on tour. I just kept driving as the rain began to pour.

Harry’s POV

“Babe, why are you crying? What’s wrong?” I said to Alex as she started to cry again

“Nana. She’s not good, she’s in the hospital,” She stopped and continued to cry, “Harry, I don’t know what to do.”

“Alright Alex, head over to my flat.” I told her

“Okay.”

The line disconnected. I can’t believe this is happening to her. She doesn’t know that I’m here, at my flat. I could hear the rain pour down on the roof. Louis walked into the room.

“What’s wrong, Haz.”

“It’s Alex, something happened to her grandmother. I don’t think she’s taking it okay.”

“That’s terrible, I hope everything’s alright. So does this mean your fancy plans with her are postponed?”

I nodded, “You don’t have to leave anymore.”

“I would love to stay, but I have plans too y’know,” he picked up his jacket and keys, “tell Alex that’s I said sorry about her grandmother. I’ll be back tomorrow.”

Then he left. I went to my room and started to think, about a lot of things.

The doorbell rang and Alex was standing in front of me, water covering her body. I pulled her in the house.

“Harry, I don’t know what to do. She’s going to leave me I know she is!” she said as she sat down, she was shaking. Her long straight black hair was now wavy, all her makeup was smudged.

“No she’s not,” I sat next to her and put her head on my chest and put my arm around her shoulder, “No one’s ever going to leave you.”

“I don’t think you understand Harry! Everyone I’ve ever loved leaves!” she wasn’t looking at me, “I’ve only told Liam this, but when I was 7, Vinny, my mom, my dad and I were on our way to a Yankees game. It was my dad’s favorite team and it was my first baseball game. It was the best game ever, even though the Yankees lost. When we driving home a drunk driver was swerving on the side of us, he hit the front of our car once. Then he it a second time and that time our car flipped over 2 times. Vinny and I were okay but,” a tear feel from her face, “they were gone. It took me awhile to let my brother call me Alex ever again. Everyone leaves me. And now Liam won’t even talk to me.”

“Well, Alex,” I gently put my hand on her chin and brought her face up towards mine, “I promise you I will never leave you. Ever.”

She smiled; I brought my face down to her level to give her a kiss, she kissed me back.

“Harry, can I stay here tonight?”

“You can stay forever babe.”

Alex’s POV

“Wake up, babe.” Someone whispered in my ear, I looked up to see Harry smiling at me. He gave me a peck on the cheek, “Breakfast is downstairs sleeping beauty.”

I smiled, I got to the kitchen.

“What do you want to do today Alex?”

“Um, my agent texted me and told me I have an interview in a week and I nothing else to do. But I want to see Nana first, and then we can have the best day ever!”

“Yay!”

My phone rang; it said Vinny on the caller ID.

“Alex, you need to get down to the hospital now!”

“Why what happened?”

“Just get here!”

He hung up, I told Harry and we both got ready really quickly. I didn’t have a change of clothes so I borrowed a pair of Harry’s sweats and a sweater. As we headed out we weren’t aware of the fact that paparazzi was already there at the hospital.

“Alexandria, are you and Harry dating?”

“Why are you at the hospital is Alexandria pregnant?”

“Is Harry the father?”

Harry held my hand tighter and we walked into the hospital, the flashing lights started to fade. We took the elevator up to my grandmother’s room. When we got there the room was empty.

“Nurse, where is the woman who was staying here?” Harry asked for me

“She’s been taken to the Intensive Care Unit.”
