It is so sudden.
All it takes is
A flood of emptiness
Cascading through me.
A slip,
And the world turns inaudible.
Time stretches out and I can see it
Falling,
Falling,
Falling,
Dancing leisurely towards
The burnished marble tiles.
Moonlight emphasising the
Curves and hollows of its brittle body, reflecting in
Silver
Azure
Sapphire
Pearl.
Such tranquil hues.
A myriad of serene colours,
Swirling elegantly,
Accenting the crystalline rim,
Where a river of blood is trickling steadily, staining
The floor.
Yet it continues its
Graceful descent, glowing with
Radiant, lustrous light.
In vain I reach towards it,
Trying fruitlessly to prevent the inevitable-
The collision of brittle glass on stone, and I am
Wrenched
Back into the flow of time, only to see it
Smash,
In an explosion of Ice shards,
Fragmented crystal showering into a puddle of crimson,
Which slowly pools around the remains of a
Shattered glass,
Still mirroring the now distorted light.
