An Old Memory

-Flashback-

“We’re begging you, please kill these peoples!”

Airin was still wearing the cat mask is confused.

“They’re really a trouble for us. Please, kill them. We will pay whatever you want!”

“Whatever I want?” Airin asked with a uncertained tone.

“Whatever you want.”

Airin smiled behind her mask and turned back to her house.

“I took your offer.”

Airin seemed serious inspecting papers scattered out on her table. Well, not actually scattered, just a little messy and isn’t too comfortable to look at. (I dunno how to translate it—shhhhh don’t judge me)

Airin was trying to form a strategy on a paper. She tried to combine a few of her old strategies to make the perfect strategy.

After finding the right strategy, she went to kill those peoples. Even though one by one, she can kill all the peoples that was asked to be killed in a day. This is the reason why Airin is feared.

“Hmm? They can’t be contacted?” Chuuya asked.

“Chuuya-san! I got news today that there’s a woman killing a lot of the Port Mafias!” a person informed as he/she suddenly barged inside the room where Chuuya is.

“Ha? What do you mean?”

“I saw it, a woman with a cat mask is killing one of the Port Mafia earlier.”

“Then why don’t you just kill her already, baka!”

“I tried, but she realized my presence and I don’t know why my gun is gone. But after a few seconds after I saw it, my gun is already in her hands.

“Some kind of gravity manipulation huh?” Chuuya muttered.

“Chuuya-san, you’ve been called by the boss.” Said a person that just came inside the room.

Chuuya went to see Mori Ougai. He saw Dazai infront of the boss and Chuuya stand beside Dazai.

“Oh, Chuuya-kun.” Said Mori Ougai who just realized Chuuya’s presence.

“Onto the point, you all must’ve know the cat-masked, the assassin that killed Port Mafia members?” Mori asked.

Chuuya and Dazai nodded.

“I want you all to capture her.” Mori ordered.

A day passed after killing the Port Mafia members, Airin went to an old building to receive the money they promised.

Almost all of the peoples were thankful for the assassin, ironic isn’t it?

After finishing the business, the peoples leaved. Airin stayed there for counting the amout of money she received. But…

Suddenly, objects around Airin started to float in the air. Airin looked confused because she’s not controlling none of the objects with her eyes.

Airin tried to find the source whom controls the objects around her and she found 2 persons at the entrance door.

Airin who is surprised, immediately hide her money and tried to escape through the window. But, it failed. When she’s about to run to the window, a person blocked Airin with heavy and tall objects. Airin tried to control the object but her skill isn’t functioning, where’s something or someone cancelling her powers.
Airin turned around and asked. “What do you want?”

“we’re sent by the Port Mafia boss to capture you.” Answered one of them. Airin then remembered, they’re the Port Mafia members. They’re called Double Black.

“Damn…” Airin muttered.

“I don’t want to go with you!” Airin shouted.

“Then we will take you with force.” Dazai answered.

Chuuya began to attack Airin and Airin successfully avoid it, and it continues on. Airin knew, it’s difficult to use her powers when there’s Dazai around.

Airin though hard to find a way so she can escape from them. But she can’t consentrate to Chuuya and tripped on an object scattered around on the ground. Airin fell and fainted.

-timeskip-

Airin is in a room with dim lights, her legs are tied, and also her hands. Airin’s body is tied to a chair. Her mask is who knows where. Her eyes are covered with a thick black fabric. That room has no other objects besides the chair which Airin is tied to.

Airin opened her mouth.

“Oh, you’re finally came to.” Said Dazai.

“Who’re you?” Airin shouted.

“For now, you better calm youself down.” Said Chuuya.

“Wh-What do you want?!” Airin asked, getting annoyed and angry.

“We were ordered to capture you.” Chuuya answered.

“For what?” Airin asked. Actually, she’s scared. REALLY scared.

“I don’t know.” Chuuya answered.

“Chuuya-san, how about we punish her? She killed a lot of the Port Mafia members.” Tachihara Michizo asked.

“I think you got a point.”

Dazai approached Airin.

“Hm? Why would a beautiful woman like you want to become an assassin?” Dazai asked.

Airin kept her mouth shut.

“How about we just kill her?” Asked a person.

“Don’t! lets just torture her! We can’t just let her die like that!”

Airin looked terrified. Even though she realized the risk of being an assassin, Airin don’t want to die. That’s why she’s easily to retreat from the mission that her clients gave her.
“Hm? You looked terrified… Aren’t you a cruel one? Or… are you afraid of death?” Dazai asked.

Once more, Airin kept her mouth shut. What Dazai said was true.

The terrified Airin couldn’t remember the incident after Dazai said that. One thing for sure is that she felt pain that time.

Until in the end, she heard Mori Ougai, the Port Mafia’s boss who said, “Enough.”

“I have an idea.” Said Ougai as he walked to Airin.

“It is weird, but… I want you to join the Port Mafia, Airin Kanagami.” Mori continued.

“I… I can’t…” Airin answered.

“Hm… Is that so?” Mori muttered.

“Chuuya-kun, Dazai-kun, free her. We no longer have any business with her.” Mori ordered.

Dazai and Chuuya released the rope that tied Airin. Then, they escorted her out from the Port Mafia’s nest.

After she’s out from there, she immediately ran back home and cried of fear.

Eversince that day, she’s traumatized with the assassin world and Port Mafia. Because of that, Airin wanted to run a normal life without anyone know that Airin was a killer.

As the time goes by, Airin got a job as a Pharmacist but, she’s still cautious. She’s still afraid that there might be a Port Mafia member spying on her.

After a quite some time, Airin’s memory about her trauma slowly fade from her mind. Before Airin went back as an assassin, all she remembered was when she was tortured by the Port Mafia because of killing. She doesn’t even remember Dazai and Chuuya.

-END OF FLASHBACK-

After failing to kill Dazai, Atsushi, and Kunikida, Airin still remembered why she was traumatized.

And now, she just walked past by with Nakahara Chuuya, the one who captured her before.
