Anna's P.O.V.
Blake continued to hit me but I never once cried out in pain. I didn't want him to get the pleasure of seeing me hurt so I held it in. After a while Blake's hits started getting weak, I think he wanted to hit me more but he just didn't have the energy anymore.
"Shane!" Blake calls out.
Almost immediately a young man came into the room and bowed to Blake.
"Yes sir?" The man, who's name is Shane asks.
"Take this filth back into its cage." Blake orders.
Shane walks up to me and he pulls me up gently...wait gently? Then he pushes me, again genlty, ahead of him and he leads me to the cages. He puts me in the cell and then he walks off. Then I hear footsteps coming back, was it Blake coming over to hit me more? Then I saw Shane coming back with food. He opens up the door and hands it to me. I take it and put it down in front of me.
"It's not poisoned." He says gently.
I began eating the food. I look up to see if he was gone and I saw that he was sitting down with the door wide open.
"Why are you being nice to me?" I ask.
"I can't explain it but I have this connection with you." He replies.
"What do you mean connnection?" I question.
"I feel like I have to protect you. My wolf is in protective mode right now." He replies.
"So what's going to happen?" I ask him.
"I heard that Blake was going to come down here to visit tonight, so after he leaves I'm going to get you out of here." He replies.
"How can I trust you?" I question.
"Don't you want to go back to your mate?" He asks.
"How did you...?" I began to ask.
Then I realized that he could smell Matt on me.
"Yes I do." I say.
"Then trust me." He says.
I went back to eating the food and I soon finished.
"Thank you Shane." I say handing the tray to him.
"Your welcome." He says grabbing the tray.
He gets up then, closes the cage door, and walks off. I wonder if I can trust him?
