Anna’s P.O.V.
I felt so happy that everything was going to get better from now on but for some reason, I felt that, that happiness wouldn’t last. I pushed that negative feeling away and I just concentrated on Matt. He was looking at me with concern.
“You okay?” He asks.
I just nod my head. I didn’t want to let him know that I had negative feelings. I see a guy come over and he whispers something into Matt’s ear. After the guy backs up, Matt turns to look at me.
“Austin here just told me that Dustin is on the phone wanting to talk to you.” Matt says.
I was nervous. What did Dustin need to say to me? Matt pulls my hand and we head up to his office. I sat down and Matt hands me the phone so I take it and put it up to my ear.
“Dustin?” I question.
“Anna, I’m sorry.” Dustin replies.
“What for? What’s going on?” I ask.
“He’s still alive. We kicked him out.” Dustin tells me.
“What should I do?” I ask.
“Stay near the pack house and if anything suspicious happens, let me know.” He says.
“I promise I will.” I tell him.
Dustin and I hung up and then I turned to look at Matt.
“We have a problem.” I say.
“Tell me.” He replies.
“He is still alive.” I whisper.
I knew Matt heard me. I got up off the chair and went to where my brothers were at. When I arrived in front of them, they looked shocked to see that I was angry.
“You left him alive to get revenge on me?!” I yell out.
“Wait, he’s alive?” Ryan asks.
“I want you to leave now.” I reply.
“Please Anna hear us out.” Luke says.
“No, I don’t want to hear your lies! Get out now!” I yell.
Ryan and Luke got off the couch. They both give me a sad look like I’m going to change my mind. When they realize that I’m not going to, they head up to their rooms and then three minutes later they come down with their bags.
“Anna please.” Luke begs.
I wonder if they think I’ll change my mind but I just shake my head. They walk out the door without looking back at me.
“Anna, are you sure they didn’t know he was still alive?” Matt asks.
I snapped out of my thoughts and looked at Matt.
“I’m going to go upstairs so leave me alone.” I tell him.
I went upstairs and into our room. I closed the door and lay on the bed. Did my brothers really leave him alive and if they did…why?
I hear a knock on the door so I get up and walk over. I opened the door to see Matt.
“Can we talk?” He asks.
I just nod my head and let him in. He closes the door so I go and sit down on the bed.
“Have you thought that maybe your brothers didn’t know that he was still alive?” Matt asks.
I shrug my shoulders.
“I mean come on Anna you should know by now that they wouldn’t do something like that. They love you and they would never want to hurt you.” Matt says.
“I don’t know what to think anymore. I’m going to go out for a run. I need to clear my head.” I tell him.
“Stay near the house, alright?” He says.
I just nod my head and make my way down the stairs. Could Matt be right?
